You find a Wallet in a department store, You look inside at a bankroll of money and an ID Card enclosed, would you count it (HONESTLY) before making the decision of returning it to the owner. Or just simply turn it in to the Customer Service Dept and NOT Look Inside?

You gotta remember what goes around comes around. If you count it and keep it, the Lord will return you the favor in one way or another. Odds are not good either that you will like the favor you get in return.

Honestly, I've done both. I've returned every wallet with everything inside when there was ID in it. And the above posters are right, the feeling of goodness is wonderful.

But once while working in a bar, I found a wallet with no ID, library card, nothing but cash. I did take that home and spent the money. ($2500) after about 2 months of no one calling to ask about it. That bar had tons of drug dealers that hung out there and my reasoning was that it probably belonged to one of them and I would do more good with the money since I don't do drugs or drink. I spent the money to visit my family who live 4000 miles away for Christmas.

If I found it in a department store, I would take it to the Customer Service Center without looking for ID or for money. I've done it.
I would hope that if someone found my wallet, he/she would do the same.

I would look inside. I'm nosey but would return it with all the money inside to the rightful owner. I've lost wallets before and know what it feels like to lose it.
We could all use some good karma.

My father once found a wallet in a store and went to the front desk to let the clerk announce it. The guy came up to get his wallet and was so thankful that he gave my father $20. Doing the right thing can sometimes pay off.

I found a wallet the other day and didn't count money before turning it in...but I did see that there was money in it. Wouldn't want to ruin my chances for heaven over a wallet!

First, I would look for some type of ID. Second, I would see how much was in it. Third, I would return it with all it's contents intact no matter how much was in it. I just think that if I spent any of the cash, whatever I buy will give me grief. My conscious would get the best of me.

I would definately go through it. If it appeared to be someone that would be really inconvenienced by losing their wallet I would consider giving it back. I know it sounds bad but there would be some circumstances where I would keep it.

Turn it in and look away. I've had it done to me and I've met the people I've done it for. That level of respect and gratitude is unexplainable and worth a hell of a lot more than the feeling of theft would be. We should all learn how to be less greedy.

I'd open it to find the ID, and possibly glance at the size of the wad, but I wouldn't count it. I don't plan on keeping it so it doesn't matter.
