Oh Good Lord.... does it ever end? There's a whole lot of old, accepted religious stuff that people can easily poke holes in. It kind of makes a person wish everything everybody thinks they know about religion should be wiped out of their memory banks so that the world can start clean and new - and maybe if people started new from what we know today we wouldn't be dealing with stuff that was supposed to have gone on thousands of years ago.

There's a point where you just want to say, "Can we drop it?"

Where does the bible say God's love is impartial?

God is sovereign. That means he does what he wants. You can complain if you want, but the most change you can effect is to make him mad. As for me, I'll let him love whoever he wants and just be thankful he loves me, too.

Where did you read that He favored the Israelites? God created a plan that allows anyone to become saved. God's love and grace is available to all who will accept His Son, Jesus Christ. God often referes to the Israelites as "My People", but that does not preclude the rest of us from His mercy and grace.

I call my eldest child "my daughter", but that does not mean I reject the rest of my children or love them less.

I think it goes back to Abraham who believed God. Abraham had a son called Ishmael, who was conceived illegimate. Sarah was wrong to tell her maid to sleep with her husband, but Hagar should have refused. So Isaac became the legitimate son. Also the Israelites were oppressed by the Egyptians and God hates oppression of any kind. King David of Israel was the apple of God's eye, Ironically David also believed God. He chose the Israelites, to bring them to the promised land so that they would be a shining example to all other nations, as they were supposed to keep the commandments to love their neighbour as themselves. Many of them disobeyed and God brought them low also. So yes God is impartial to anyone of us who do not listen to His voice and do not believe Him, when He said "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased listen to Him" We either believe God or call him a liar. Which of course satan wants us to rebel against the Most High, as satan is the father of lies. witness how he lied to eve in the garden of eden.

The partial loving god that we see in the bible, the koran, etc. is an ego projection. Unconditional Love can never have a 'chosen people' or reward and punish different people because of 'sin'.

"That was the old God - he is New and Improved!! Havent you read the NT?!?!" - anonymous Christian source....

Of course, is there such a thing as new AND improved? I mean, how can something be improved if it is totally new? Shouldnt it either be New or Old, But Improved! Either way, its a shame that they put this label on a deity!
