Sounds like Jesus is the new prodigal son to me! It's not like God ever endorsed Jesus. God didn't lift a finger when Jesus cried about being forsaken. What do you think? I'd like to hear God's side of the story on this one...(apostles don't count, that's like counting on demons to write the truth about Satan)

Considering how both Jesus and Lucifer are called "The Morning Star", the light-bringers, banishers of ignorance, you could say yes. I personally believe Lucifer is a good deity and essentially much like Jesus. Lucifer actually translates into something along the lines of "light-bringer", and since Venus is the "star" you can still see in the day (and I believe the first to be seen at night), he was given the name Morning Star. As was Jesus (as was previously stated, sorry to be redundant).

However, Satan, the Devil, was never named Lucifer in the Bible. Lucifer is not Satan and Satan is not Lucifer. Satan translates into "the accuser", and even individuals in the Bible are told not be "satans" and accuse or oppose God.

So, your question is slightly flawed in the wording, but even with your original question, you definitely could take the liberty of drawing that conclusion. Their ideas and actions are essentially, similar in nature. Most people are just too afraid, close-minded, or unknowledgable to even entertain such a thought, let along think about it very long and give you an intelligent answer.

I tried :).

But God did endorse Jesus. Check out John, when Jesus was baptized. God said, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." But demons didn't write a historical account of anything. Satan never disputes that what he did was wrong. The apostles are very reliable historically according to the standards, so you saying they don't count, in effect, does not count.

God didnt "lift a finger" as you say because Jesus was SUPPOSED to die for our sins. Jesus also didn't throw out the old law, He merely finished the laws for things in preparation for the Messiah (which He is) and God didn't endorse Him? Pick up the OT and read all the places where God promises a Messiah.

Hmmmm, you forget that Jesus is God.

The Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

And he didn't "throw out" the old law. He said:

God "You all have sinned and will burn in hell for this. Everyone. No exceptions."

~drops the gavel, case closed~

God then stepped down from his place as judge, became a mortal man, Jesus, and paid for each and everyone's sin.

Imagine you get pulled over for speeding. You go before the judge and discover that its your father. He does his job, sets a fine and jail time. He then steps off the bench, walks with you to the clerk, pays the fine and then goes in and serves your jail time. That's love. That's what God did. Lucifer merely tried to usurp God's place. No comparison.

Everything Jesus did was with a purpose. His death was to redeem us from sin, and the Father can have nothing to do with sin because he is pure and had to forsake his Son during the time on the cross. But it was all with a perfect purpose that they agreed on. The Father loves the Son as the quote above says.
Jesus came to die, that was why he came. His death paid the price for our sin because he was without sin - the only way it could be paid and the price that we could not pay by ourselves.
He took our beating and shame - and it is believed that he felt the weight of all sin while he was on the cross - being God. Can you imagine? I cannot grasp it but I am grateful with my very life.
His resurrection defeated death, for us.
The prodigals are you and I.

being god's only begotten son, Jesus would never do anything his father didn't want him to.

he changed the laws around because that was god's plan, jesus's death got rid of the old ways the Israelites had to do, sacrifices, and priests were no longer necessary, Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for all sins, all we have to do is repent.

god himself said while jesus was gettign babtized.
"this is my son, the beloved, whom i have approved..." so god by far approved of jesus and all he did or will do on earth, any rules or changes he made where by god's will.
Jesus said himself
'Not that any man has seen the Father, except he who is from God; this one has seen the Father'
he being the one from god, of course, is evidence that anything Jesus did or said is more or less exactly what Jehovah god would have done himself.

Jesus could have called down a legion of millions of angels to save him, if he wished it he could have burned all his persecutors on the spot, and turned them into ashes, however, that would never have done his father's will, which was for him to die, he fully excepted it, because both of them loved humans that much.
"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life"

God did endorse Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in John 3-16. "This is my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased listen to Him."

When Christ cried out on the cross, My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" It was our sins that seperated Him from God his father. As God and sin cannot walk together. As the Israelites once offered an unblemished lamb for atonment of sins, Christ became that lamb once and for all. The pharisees were adamant that the people would obey the old law, but they didnt keep the law themselves. The new covenant God made with his people was "that He would write his commandments on their hearts. By accepting Christ as Lord and Saviour, we uphold those commandments by the love He has poured into our hearts.

Interesting theory, but there's a few details missing...

According to the mythology, Lucifer rebelled against god, and tried to take his throne. Jesus, on the other hand, only invalidated the laws of the church, which, even though handed down from god, were a man made creation...

No. God sent the holy spirit when Jesus was being baptized "this is my Son, and in him I am well pleased." So yes, he did endorse Jesus.
