Absolutely not. Christ didn't come here to set up religions, He came to re-establish relationships with people. God had tried with Adam and Eve, and well, we all know how well that went...(Men still can't take responsibility for not taking care of things on the home front...I should say something about Eve not "obeying" but it's in the rulebook- I'm a girl- so I have to ignore that part...LOL)
Anyway, if there were no churches, no preachers, no religion, I would still know that an Awesome Designer created all this, and I would want to walk and talk with Him. Like the way Native Americans knew that there was a Great Spirit before any white man stepped foot on this continent... Good Luck on your search.

Do you remember the story by Tolstoy where a preacher on a sea voyage comes across three old men on an island. He finds that they knew next to nothing of god, relition and prayer. He gives them elaborate instructions in a sermon. He resumes the journey. The same night while he was loitering on the deck he sees a strange glowing light from the direction of the island and what was more it was moving towards the ship. Rather intrigued he continues to gaze at it in bewielderment. As the source of light comes nearer he could identify the outline of the three old men in it and is wonderstruck when he finds that they were walking of the water. They soon come on the deck and submissively ask the preacher to repeat the prayer as they have forgotten it.He can hardly utter word.'The thing is we merely say,'God,we are three .You are three.Nothing else. You taught us such wonderful things but we have unfortunately entirely forgotten them. Would you plealse repeat them for us?" The preacher is dumbstruck. No finding him responding they turn back and resume their journey back the same way they had come. The light recedes and finally disappears.

Don't you find a reply to your query in this story? God does not need any interprete your sincere prayers.Nor any elaborate ritual for the purpose. The Hindu philosopher Shankar says that even a tribal offering human sacrifice to god is as much a devotee as a yogi who endeavours to know god through meditation alone. In both cases the focus is the same.

No. Thats why its called "Relationship with God" and not "religion with God. You don't need to justify anything to anybody especially God. God knows and understands everything about everyone. What we do in our lives is Gods business and no one elses. What we do should matter to God. How we live should be because it matters to God. Relationship (between you and God is a personal thing) like a marriage. Religion is nothing but LAWS, rules, etc etc. There's no LOVE in religion. Thats were i believe people get lead astray because they are being too legatistical worrying about following laws. (like the Pharisee's) If they have a relationship with Christ and love God they will live to try to please him. Our bible is our guide but God is in our hearts if we let him in. sorry just my opinion of things.

What an excellent question...I am one of those who do not believe in a religion but still believe in GOD who is eternal, most magnificient and is super natural.

Religion has been formed by people for their own benefits. some of these people possessed excellent leadership qualities which allowed them to brainwash other people and thus the origin of various religions. If everyone were to renounce religion and understand what is right and wrong, there would be less problems in this world.

No, not to justify it. Christ is my only justificaiton. My spirituality is based on my relationship with God that was made possible by the atoning death & resurrection of Jesus the Christ. But going to church (which I assume is your real question) is necessary because it reunites me with a fellowship of believers who help each other and keep each other strong. Without that fellowship I could very well lose my way and fall back into old habits.

I don't. To me religion is just a life style. People choose to worship and learn about God in different ways. I don't see why I have to follow what a man tells me is right or wrong. We all know in our hearts what's right and what's wrong. I don't need anyone taking all my money, and spending on a new car for themselves either!

There's too much undefined in your question.

How can we have a 'relationship with God' without 'religion'? It is by means of God's revealed will, the Bible, that we can know what God wants us to do to be pleasing to Him. We need to do the Father's will (Matthew 7:21).

Nope not in the least. I don't believe in religion, I believe in God.

Oh, and my definition of religion: "Any attempt, such as an action like prayer, singing, doing good deeds, etc, to get into the good graces of a divine, all-knowing and all-powerful deity."

There is nothing you can do to reach God, you have to accept that he reaches out to you.
