My 12-year marriage ended due to my spouse's bipolar. I would have been dead from stress had I stayed. My husband refused treatment and also had several addiction problems.

I wish you more luck than I had.

I married someone who seemed to have an anger problem flying into rages or moping. This went on the first year we were married, I could not take what was abuse to me from the threats and intimidation behavior. I got out of the marriage with the divorce final after almost 2 years of marriage and the last 6 months apart. He remarried and by fate a background check was done on me and the employer called his mother, his mother called him, he called me. Oddly, I found out years later that he was finally diagnosed with bi-polar disorder long after we had parted but we didn't know he had that when we were married. That's my story with my close brush with it. I know there are others on medication who are able to deal with it okay in their marriages.

You could try this website that lists support groups for bipolar disease:

Good luck to you.
