I have 2 windows in my bedroom that are sides by side (the shar a corner). The problem I have is that I want to hang curtains but am unsure of how this can be done. Is there a special kind of curtain rod that is made for corners in a room?

Search for corner rod bracket. Not a big selection, but somewhere to start.

I used two double rod holders, mounting them to meet evenly in the corner. On the back one, I hung sheers that met at the wall, extending to the middle of the window, and then out the other side. On the inside, closest to the room, I hung heavier curtains about extending out about two inches from the window frame.

Yes, you can probably find it at Linens and Things or Bed Bath and Beyond. It has a little flexible part that curves around the corner.
