We pray to god everyday for lives, our needs and sins. We got everything in desire but there is not one time we stop and thank him.

I have faith that my needs will be taken care of and so far they have. I very seldom ask for anything for myself but occasionally I will ask for blessing for someone else. My prayers are to give praise and thanksgiving.

Good question!

However, not all of us are ungrateful... plus, some people don't have a clear idea of God, whether there is a God/higher being, etc. So I can understand why they wouldn't be 'thankful' - they don't know who to thank or they don't even know if there is somebody to thank!

I do admit that I don't thank God enough for all that He has done, all the He does and all that I am trusting him for down the road.

Cheers :)

For what? The other day I looked at victim's photos of an 18 month old girl who was killed and barbed-wired to a piece of concrete before being thrown in a canal. What part of that should God be thanked for?

And I'm not being facetious, and have no intent to appear sarcastic. This is intended as a serious answer to your question.

You're wrong there. Every time I pray, the first thing I do is thank God for all that he does and all his blessings. Maybe you're the only who is ungrateful.

We are selfish beings, that's why most people apply the "Just looking out for number 1" mentality. Unfortunately as followers of God we are called to be set apart. Many people just think about themselves though.

Because we live in darkness.
If we let a little light entering our mind, we would be grateful to our parents for their great love to us. We would be grateful to mankind for their greater love in building an ever-advancing civilization that we can enjoy conversing instantly on the Internet. We would be grateful to the greatest love of God in bestowing on us all the marvelous things far beyond our asking and our imagination.
Seek more light please.

when I was young I used to pray to God and tell him everything I wanted and he always gave me what I truely needed.I learned to talk to God every day I'd tell him my problems or what a wonderful day I had I'd thank him when things worked out He's a good father to share your life with.

Should we be thankful for people with aids? What about cancer? Should we be thankful for crack addicted babies? Should we be thankful about dead soldiers? Should we be thankful for the thousands of starving people? Should we be thankful for the paralyzed? We aren't thankful because there is nothing to be thankful for. God has never done anything for anyone, therefore it's impossible for us to be ungrateful to it.

Speak for yourself. I thank God daily. And ask for forgiveness.

But not everyone is a believer and those who do not believe would not consider thanking God as they don't believe God exists.

I'm sorry. I have to disagree with you there. We thank Him every day...or at least I do. In my tears, in my awe of the beauty that surrounds us the beauty that He created. Stopping every once in a while to just take it all in. Sending a prayer of thanks to Him for assisting me in my accomplishments. We all take the time to thank Him in our own little ways and He knows this. ;o)
