Bi-weekly means every other week. If you are paid this way, MOST months you will be paid twice, but some months (usually 2 per year) you will be paid three times. There is a difference between bi-weekly and twice per month.

OK, please note, there ARE two definitions:
bi·week·ly (b-wkl) adj.
1. Happening every two weeks.
2. Happening twice a week; semiweekly.
The first is what is usually meant for payroll, however -- so you receive your check every two weeks. This DOES NOT MEAN twice a month, as some people have said. These two terms are not synonymous. If you receive your check biweekly (every two weeks), there are usually two months each year when you will receive three paychecks instead of two.
Check for yourself -- if you get paid every other Friday, beginning on 01/06/06, you will get 3 paychecks in March (03/03, 03/11 & 03/31) and September (09/01, 09/15 & 09/29). Makes budgeting an adventure!!

Bi-Weekly can mean either twice a week or every two weeks, depending on context!..... Bad English anyhow!
If talking about income, then it almost certainly means every two weeks! Some jobs, and many benefits are paid Fortnightly (better English), and it is to this that you are referring! If you are Salaried, and paid monthly, then simply divide your monthly salary by two!
Hope this Helps!

Bi-weekly income means that you get paid every two weeks....
you will have 52 weeks per year divided by 2 is 26 paydays per year.
I hope that this helps you.

It's neither. It's income every two weeks. There are two months each year when you will get paid 3 times . Those are like a bonus when that happens. The military on the other hand has semi monthly pay on the 1st and the 15th each month. biweekly is 26 payments where the military people only get 24.

I believe that would be income distributed every 2 weeks.
Bi is often used as a prefix for things related to the word 2.

If income is reported as weekly, biweekly or semi-monthly, use the following calculations to convert into monthly oar annual income
Monthly Income Equals:
· Weekly Income X 4.3

Although it definitely sounds like it should be twice a week, it's twice a month. Actually imo, twice a month should be bi-monthly. That would eliminate the confusion...but wouldn't account for the 2 extra paychecks a year you get when you get paid every 2 wks, versus 2x per month.
