who is more persistant on spreading their word?

Okay, I'm LDS myself, but I can't stand it especially when your Bishop coanstantly sends the missionaries to your house. We had some once that came to our house for 8 months.
Jehovah witnesses scare me. They came to my door, I politely declined and they kept coming back. One day they brought a whole van full of them. I had to hide in my own house and call the police.

This is anti-Witness slander. Jehovah's Witnesses may ride in a vehicle to a general area together, but they visit homes in pairs rather than groups. In doing so, they follow the pattern established by Christ Jesus himself:

(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.

(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.

(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house

It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

I served as an LDS missionary. We have been warned to avoid Bible thumping, or arguing over scripture interpretation. Even if one reveals a scripture that claims phrase for phrase what you suppose, no person else will difference their ideals in view that of it. No one particularly believes that the Bible has the last say, or they would not depend so closely on others to interpret it for them. Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses truthfully have a lot in traditional. If the Jehovah's Witnesses had the religion to comply with a dwelling prophet, and research an open canon of scripture, they might be Mormons.

I'm not afraid of them just annoyed. I am not sure what more I can do to stop the Jehovah Witnesses from knocking on my door all the time. I have tried the "Thank you but no thank you" I have a sign on my door that reads " No Solicitation of ANY Kind." I even let my brother be rude to see if it would stop them from coming around. I have my own beliefs and am not about to give them up for anyone. So afraid no, annoyed and frustrated, yes.

I've got to say that it depends on the individual. I served as an LDS missionary and I hated watching other missionaries try to force people into listening to something they didn't want to hear and wouldn't accept. Jehovah's Witnesses are a little stranger to me, but that could just be because I'm Mormon myself.

Jehovah's Witnesses also have missionaries. So, if you are threatened by either one, boy you are in double trouble! Just kidding :) You shouldn't be afraid of us at all, we are only messengers. Have you heard the saying " Don't shoot the messenger!" ? What we have to say comes directly from God's word. That should not be frightening to you, it should actually make you rejoice to know that this pathetic system that we live in will not last. You should be overjoyed to learn that the Bible teaches one day the earth will return to being a paradise. It should make you happy to know that whatever difficulties you have had to face in your life, will one day be completely resolved under God's Kingdom. Exactly what part of that message is so terrifying to you?

Afraid?

I am not afraid of anyone based upon their Religion or faith...

And with respect to the persistance of 'spreading their word', there are many different religions that have missionaries so I can't answer your question because you haven't specified what 'type' of missionaries you mean...

As for, "Christian" missionaries, at least most Christian missions and missionaries are involved in helping communities (building schools, clinics, orphanages, homes) in tangible ways rather than just pushing "religious" beliefs on people.
These tangible activites are basic tenets of what they believe (helping widows and orphans, clothing the poor, feeding the hungry, helping the needy).

That's just my two cents. :)

In my short life, I have only had 1 pair of J's Witnesses come to my door. The rest have been Mormom missionaries, but they were cute. I was pestered once outside of a store by some non-denomenational people who were passing out "He died for yuo" fliers. I think they're all the same.

are you asking who is more persistent or who are u afraid of???? Because i am a jehovah witness and persistent- yes- in the way that we are the only religion that actually preaches from house to house around the entire world.
And the whole "being afraid"- yah if u think about it i think the murders, rappers, etc. are considered something to be afraid of not us.

I am not afraid of either, but Jehovah witnesses peddle salvation, they dont seem to know that no one can come to the Lord unless the Lord calls him/her. Missionaries at least tell about the love God has for all by sending His Son Christ Jesus and by taking Him into your heart, He will transform their lives.
