Everywhere in the United States, Jehovah's Witnesses do not knock on doors until 9:30am; in most areas they actualy wait until 10:00am or later. Only open businesses may receive brief calls before then.
It's sad that anti-Witness agitators continue to spread lies and slander about the Christian ministry of Jehovah's Witnesses. Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:
(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.
(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.
(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Yes, actually I have a good working relationship with those in our neighborhood. They have done some wonderful things in setting up youth centers that are NOT focused on perpetuating the faith, but rather keeping troubled kids off the streets.
Ah, but your problem. Put up a no soliciting sign. Ask them to put you on the do not visit list. It's your property - you can make the rules and they've always honored ours.
Good luck and sweet dreams!

Their religion (as does most other branches of Christianity) believe they have some moral obligation to "save" people, so they go around "spreading the word" trying to fulfill this self-imposed obligation... I think it's entirely pointless, but whatever floats their boat...
I just politely decline their offers and send them on their merry way. I've never been in the mood to invite them in for a theological discussion of any kind, but some people like to go this way; either to find out more about why these folks came to their door in the first place, and/or to try and get these folks to understand misconceptions about their own religion and to maybe correct some misinformation they have received about a number of topics... Of course, you could just go the way of answering the door naked :).

Yes there should be a rule that they don't come before 1 pm! Eversince I found out that Michael Jackson is the world's most famous J's Witness, I don't know what to think.

I dont know why they try to tell people about it, if only 144,000 people go to heaven like they believe, I'd be like "Stop telling people, theres only 8 spots left!". My good friend is a jehovahs witness and we make our fair share of showing up at the door with a bible at 3 A.M. jokes, but he is a genuinely nice guy, so I have nothing against them.

Everytime a JW knocks at the door of a friend of mine, she tells them to hang on a minute because she has got something cooking on the stove.
She then closes the frontdoor, lets herself out of the backdoor and pops down to the shop for half-an-hour.

I'd have nice, peaceable conversations with them sometimes. It's fun. I used to teach sunday school- they can't argue with me. Not and make sense, anyway. My favorite JW quote "you're not a pagan, you just think you are." I still have NO idea what they meant by that.

I would try my best to teach them the truth. Although I think they are more or less brain washed.
