Ok....
Its just a suggestion, dont eat after 6, and when you eat, dont stuff your self. If you go out to dinner, eat half your dinner and take home the rest. There, now you hae two meals for the price of one. Also stay away from crappy food, hamburgers, pizza, etc.... Eat plenty of veggies, drink lots of water, skip the soda, drink iced tea, or like my wife does, water with lemon. And never mind your body slimming down, you'll be packing more weight into your check book.
But most importantly, you have to change your mind into actually doing this. You cant just go in saying, ok, good, I've lost X amount of weight this week, I'm going to reward myslef by eating like a pig on friday night. Nope, you gotta do it and keep at it.
My wife and I have been eating alot of sushi, and when we do go out to other restaurants, we have been splitting dinner, getting an appetizer.
As for what you cook at home though, or during the day on a real world day. Keep your breakfast small, doesnt have to be big. I usually have a cinnamon roll and a coffee, and for lunch I'll have a bar, something around 200 calories and between 15 and 20 grams of protein. And then for dinner, if my wife is cooking, I'll serve myself about half. Basically what you can fit neatly on a small saucer dish. I've been shedding the pounds, slowly, but surely, and I've been keeping them off.

1/2 cup is a serving size. The palm of your hand is a good judge of a serving size. Portion control is important until you know how your body feels and reacts to feeling full. However, most of us still have to control portions because we ignore our body signals and keep eating even when we are full.

Hmm, I don't know portions exactly but I eat until I'm full and then I stop. And then I only eat when I'm truely hungry. Most people say you should leave a little on your dinner plate. It's either a 1/3 or a 1/4th

A portion is what you can put inside your hand. Look at your palm and measure the correct serving sizes of meats and other dishes.

Ok clare, Remember, when eating we need to employ a safe and health routine and shpuld stick to this.
Small is better and spaced out into intervals through the day to suit. You do not want to be bloated after eating. Avoid this.
Drink plenty of water. More carbs earlt in the day and taper out towards the evening

Moderation in eating and politics - always a good idea.
Mom always had good advice except about food and eating: Waste not, want not...Eat every bean and pea on your plate.
She had a good sense of humor, too.

Find a nutritionists website and they should have information on portion control.
