If the most important event in Judaism is a myth, how can any of it be real? Read this:
Finkelstein and Silberman point out that there is still no evidence for the existence of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Lot, Moses, and Joshua. There is no evidence that Jewish people existed as an identified people that were enslaved in Egypt. There is no evidence that over 600,000 men (plus women and children - the number could have been over a million) had an exodus from Egypt and wandered in the desert for 40 years. According to the Bible, 38 of these 40 years were actually spent encamped at Kadesh-barnea. This area has been turned upside down for decades, looking for even a tiny piece of pottery from this supposed time. It is not likely that this many people would have lived here this long and not left archeological evidence.

I used a Jewish source because I do not want to be called an anti-semite because I am not. Many rabbi's have said that the exodus was a myth to teach about suffering and redemption. I know that the Exodus is a historical event! It just was not out of Egypt by jewish people.

there is a vast amount of Egyptian history that can be verified in Egypt and other nations of the world. And your assertion that ancient Egyptians "covered up" the Exodus is baseless especially because they never covered up any negative history.

may I add a logical statement of my own? If 3 million people populated an area for 40 years, would they not leave some evidence?

all those words basically add up to faith because there does not exist evidence to support a Jewish exodus out of Egypt. That is a fact! Israel is only mentioned once in Egyptian history and it is inreference to the people of Egypt.

That's right. Judaism is a mythology, as is Christianity.

First of all, no religion can be proven and most of them are based in stories that have little or no basis in proveable fact.

That being said, the word "myth" is usually misused. Myth does not mean lie. A myth is a story used to explain something about existence. Sometimes it is clearly false, sometimes it is religious and faithful followers believe it to be true, and sometimes there is a lot of evidence that it is true.

All religions have mythology. The ancient Greeks and Romans have what most modern thinkers would commonly call mythology, but it was not much different than the Bible or the Quoran (I apologize if it's spelled wrong, I've seen it many different ways and i don't know which is correct). All of the myths are stories that are hard to believe, but people believe them anyway because they had faith. Most modern people would look back on the religion and myths of ancient Greece and laugh at how guillible people were to actually believe such things. Perhaps in the future, people will look back at Christians, Jews, Muslims, and other religious groups and laugh at their sacred texts as well.

Judaism Mythology

i notice that you base your whole premise on 2 very jewish sounding names
there are people who will go to extremes to prove a point

anyway search archeological sites and you WILL find that stuff has been found to verify certain things
enough for the believers not enough to trigger mass conversions

just a logical thought if i may
the bible describes 600,000 men aged 20-60, do the math that means 600,000 women not to mention kids and older people
i figure the number is closer to 3 million
think about this can you fool 3 million people into thinking they heard god?
saw a display of thunder lighting on cue?
moses doing all these miracles?

remember that jews in through out the centuries have ready to die for their religion
do you really think that they were fooled into this?
3 million people?
gimme a break
they do it because they know the truth
even if some jews arent comfortable with the knowledge

Yes, just because a historical account has survived the ages and whole cultures were built on the accounts contemporaneous to the very self same events, we certainly should not construe that to be evidence.

Though there be 100 times more evidence that the account of Moses is accurate than there is evidence Native Americans walked this continent 4000 years ago, you'll believe one and not the other.

Isn't then true that you have a preconceived opposition to Moses and work to invalidate any evidence that disagrees with your hypothesis?

The defination of a myth is "a traditional, typically ancient story dealing with supernatural beings, ancestors, or heroes that serves as a fundamental type in the worldview of a people, as by explaining aspects of the natural world or delineating the psychology, customs, or ideals of society: the myth of Eros and Psyche; a creation myth."
Therefore the stories and people you mention are myth, but the religion cannot be considered a myth as it does exist. The Olympian gods are considered myth, but their worship is fact (there are still pockets of worshippers in Greece and Italy). All religion is based on a mythology.

If you're looking for evidence, check out a very fascinating video entitled "Moses, and the Red Sea Crossing". It does present substantial proven archaeological evidence of many of these historical events.

All religion is mythology. It began honestly enough as a tool to guide the unlearned (if we tell them the Giant Cauliflower in the Sky says they can't eat shrimp, we won't have so many spoiled seafood deaths), but religion has gotten completely out of hand and become a business and a political tool.

This question have been asked so very many times.
Explain to me just how a people like the Jews are so closely bounded....this didn't just happen...it takes ages. Believe it or not, the Jews had a migratory history...from Egypt.

Ok, think about it this way. Egypt was the most powerful government/country at the time. What do you think they are going to do with the historical documents showing their slaves fled and they couldn't do anything about it? They would destroy them so they don't look weak. I used to think some of what you are thinking. You are also wanting documentation about people who were not actually royalty. Do we have records of Egyptian people beside they royalty? Of course not. We have no history of them at all beside bones and mummys.
