yea, so i've been there too man...
you just gotta speak turtle..
and then take the turtle out to a candle lit dinner.. but make sure it's not some oriental restaurant (they'll occasionaly eat turtle!)

You'll have to be direct, because turtles are quite shy. It's really difficult to get them out of their shells.
