Wow Karen this is a bit of a vauge question...husband, male age 25-30. I mean you're married to the guy couldn't you give us a bit more information? Age 25-30...LOL...couldn't you even narrow that down!? You have not even given us a dollar amount you want to spend!
Well...I'll give it a shot.
1. The way to a man's heart is though his stomach...or so it has been said....
a. (High End) Pick the ritziest place in town, put on your best dress and take him out. Call ahead and reserve a special table, inquire of the person taking the reservation if they have any suggestions to make the evening special. Perhaps they have a special dish that requires special notice. Perhaps they have a chefs table in the kitchen where you can eat while you watch the chef preare your dishes.
b. (medium end) Pack a high end picnic and take it to an out door concert! Many grocery stores have great things to fill your basket with...special cheeses...fruit...roll up some of his favorite meat.
c. (low end) His favorite homemade cookies, with a homemade card expressing your undying love. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best thing.
2. Tool Time!
a. (High End) just walk into any tool store and tell them you want to buy a contractor grade table saw. (If your hubby does not have one yet.)
b. (Middle end) How about a contractor grade cordless drill, or saw, or one of those combo kits?
c. (Low end) A laser level so when he hangs pictures he hangs them staight...
Any of these gifts could be given by you dressed in just a tool Belt and hard hat if you want to spice things up a bit.
3. Is he a lover of the Arts?
a. Season tickets to the Opera or Symphony...Best Seats you can get.
b. Best tickets you can afford to an event you know he'll love.
c. Many libraries let you borrow CDs...you could borrow some of his favorite artists and burn a CD of his favorites for him.
4. Hit the Road! Plan a trip....
a. First Class to London for a week of Museums and theatre!
b. A weekend at a Bed and Breakfast.
c. Buy him a travel book for someplace your dreaming of going and inscribe it "Looking forward to our future adventures and travels." I saw a neat one the other day..."In love in Italy: A Traveler's Guide to the Most Romantic Destinations in The Country of Amore". Give it with a small box of Baci Chocolates...those little hazelnut chocolates with the little "love fortunes" on the inside wrappers".
Hope some of this helped! I gotta go this took me forever to write and I'm late starting supper!

Here's a hint--he's your husband. You know him, we don't.
There's not really a great generic gift that will just floor him.
Find his love language: acts of service, touch, words of affirmation, gifts, or time?
Use that and get/make/be with him that way. You'll be surprised.
If he's a time person, getting him an amazingly expensive gift isn't going to be as effective as just spending time with him--maybe going for a horseback ride or something.
