during the summer, my mother wears tank tops with exposed bra straps, how do I tell her it is not appropriate?

It is summer right now and my mother often goes out in public and out shopping in tank tops with exposed bra straps underneath it and I feel it isn't appropriate, what is the best way for me to tell her about this ?

The trouble with kids, and their parents, especially when they are teenagers, is that their parents often embarrass them.
You can come right out and tell her, about your thoughts, on her attire, but don't expect her to change her clothing.
When we all go out, we see lots of people around us, who dress badly, at least according to some fashion trends.
But we just shake our heads at them, and go on our way.
So don't worry about it, you will survive the embarrassment, and your mom will go on her own way, happily, ignorant of how she looks.

I'm a little confused. I could see if her bra was hanging out, or she was wearing miniskirts or something......
but these days, most women's tank tops have spaghetti straps and most of us women just wear a matching bra with straps that match. I do it, and I see most other women and young ladies doing it. I dont' think it's inappropriate at all. Sometimes wearing a strapless bra looks worse and doesnt' support properly. Big deal.....it's just a bra strap.It looks just like a strap that's on any other top except it happens to be attached to her bra. It's not like she's walking around in lingerie or something.

I'm sure that everything you wear in public is appropriate, if this is the case you can let her know they make bras with clear straps and tanks with bras built in. If not then I would be very careful because she will start picking apart what you wear.

You could tell her that you do not feel comfortable with her wearing tops that expose her bra straps. She's obviously comfortable with it and being your mom, she deserves to know how you feel. But don't expect her to change her preferences for you.

It's not your place to judge the appropriateness of what your mom wants to wear. But you are completely within your right to say, "Mom, it makes me really uncomfortable when you do X, Y, Z." She may still do what she wants but you're allowed to express your feelings and hope that she listens.

maybe some things you do or say she deems inappropriate. Is it really that bad? be careful though, you might hurt her feelings.
