It just so happens that I have been working on this very problem for the last 17 years come next January 4th. (9.36am)
Unfortunately, I am a compulsive chewer and . . . . . . have you got any idea how much I've spent on tootsie pops in 17 years? (come next January 4th (9.36am)

When I was 15 and the comercial with the owl was still on tv, it took me 63 licks on one side to get to the center.

Truth be told, I don't LICK my taffies; I put it in my mouth and suck on them. So I can't answer that question. I do know that if you suck on it for about 5 minutes you'll be at the center quicker than licking it.
