Who ever said in the Bible that sex was only for procreation? See, you are merely parroting what someone else has said about it.
Just so you know, the Bible doesn't prohibit sex for pleasure. Read Solomon's Song of Songs (aka Song of Solomon). There you will find a rather sensual story about lovers.
Further, Paul tells the couple at the church in Corinth to enjoy one another, so that they don't get tempted by forbidden sex. "A husband should fulfill his obligation to his wife, and a wife should do the same for her husband. A wife does not have authority over her own body, but her husband does. In the same way, a husband doesn't have authority over his own body, but his wife does. Do not withhold yourselves from each other unless you agree to do so for a set time in order to devote yourselves to prayer. Then you should come together again so that Satan does not tempt you through your lack of self-control." (I Corinthians 7:3-5)

When accurately interpreted ( not by fundamentalist prudes) there's nothing in the bible that says sex is only for procreation as a matter of fact Paul tells married people to have sex a lot ( think that's in James)
There is also nothing in the bible that says the act of masturbation is a sin. Some people us the following verse to say it is.
"But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he lay with his brother's wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. 10 What he did was wicked in the Lord's sight; so he put him to death also. "
But if you read the whole passage this was about greed and trying to cheat his deceased brother out of his lineage.
What is a sin is to think of a Women who is not your wife in a lustful way. I know for me I have a hard time ( not pun intended) no doing this when I'm not Masturbating much less when I am.
So this is why Christians say Masturbating is wrong, because the thoughts it encourages or triggers are wrong. If you can do that act without thinking of someone or something in sexual way that is not your wife then that's fine.
The only other concern is not depriving your spouse of sex. Some married people end up preferring masturbation to sex and that would be wrong to deny your spouse sex just because you masturbated instead.

Most religious cultures view masturbation as a sin because a person uses lustful thoughts and materials (such as magazines and movies) to arouse themselves into a horny frenzy. So the sin is in the lusting not the actual act of masturbation. That's what I've been told.
Ovulation can't be a sin because a woman has no control over the process; it is an automatic funtion of the ovaries and will happen whether she's getting some or not.

Since sex is intended for procreation, masturbation is a sin. It's not the spilled semen - it's the thought process behind it. I have wondered at times whether masturbating while thinking about your spouse (when they are unavailable for whatever reason) is a sin. Never could decide on that one. As far as menstruation, that's not a voluntary act - it happens automatically.

Why do you continue to put God's word to the test? The Bible teaches " there is no wisdom nor knowledge in opposition to Jehovah" Yet I continue to see those of you who can quote a few scriptures and without truly understanding what you are talking about, you seek to sarcastically strive to teach others who know even less about the scriptures than you do. The Bible teaches "principle" that show why masturbation would be wrong from God's standpoint. Read that last sentence again so you get a proper understanding. "Principles", and "from God's standpoint" are the two parts that you need to concentrate on. Jesus taught that we should not continue looking at the opposite sex to the point that we start to lust for that person. That would be wrong, because as James 1:14 shows us, sin begins in our minds and hearts. What we let our minds dwell on will lead to action. The Bible also teaches us to deaden our sexual desires. You can in no way possible tell me or anyone else that you are "deadening" your sexual desires when you are masturbating. Jehovah God meant for men and women to satisfy their sexual desires with each other within the bonds of marriage. The fact that many who admit to masturbating talk about the heavy burden of guilt that they carry is testimony to the fact that their is something wrong with this behavior. That is why it is also referred to as "self abuse". Unlike many say, it is not simply an adverse reaction due to the way a person is raised. Persons who habitually masturbate also have a hard time in their relationships with other people, especially if they are married. Jehovah is a loving God, and certainly He understands the struggle that a single person would have in following His commands on sex. Someone who masturbates is not necessarily in the same category as a murderer, yet, that does not mean that nothing is wrong with it. Even on something that may seem a small issue in our eyes as humans (the fruit in the Garden of Eden, it was just a piece of fruit) can be become a big issue if we refuse to be obedient to Jehovah on that issue.

Where'd you come up with the idea that sex is solely for procreation? The Bible is silent on the issue of masturbation. There isn't a single commandment in all of Scripture that says "thou shalt not masturbate".

But I have heard that the Bible does not actually forbid masturbation. And even if it does, why care? We eat shell fish and pork, menstruating women are not locked outside the gates of the city (wherever that might be), animals are never sacrificed on altars any more--the bs in the Bible is ignored and that is a good thing.

The sin of course is not wasting sperm or eggs. The sin is that while you're doing it, you don't love your fellow humans as God has intended to be. If a male masturbates, thinking of a beautiful women, he isn't really interested in her, only in her body. He would despise her if the women would age, or for instance became invalid. God intended us to love everyone. Not only the good looking young blondes.
This doesn't mean that masturbating is much worse or really another sin than ignoring the beggar in front of your house. It's the same sin: not loving thy neighbour.

Here is the thing sex is not just for creation it is for pleasure between a man and his wife and yes that it how we create but it is also how we become close to our mate and is far as masturbation goes it does not talk about it in the bible,I believe this is because when you find a wife she is the one for you to have sex with so you no longer need to masturbate. This is a funny question,But I wouldn't worry about it just make sure when you are married you only have sex with your wife.

The Holy Bible never says: "Thou shalt not masturbate!" It is everyone's responsibility to determine if it is sin or not.
I think it is somewhat of a safety relief valve to keep you from doing worse things such as molesting children, rape, etc. but there is nothing in The Holy Bible about that. It probably is not if you masturbate but why and how.
God prefers us to be married to have our sexual needs meet.
