No. It actually is harder on the body to keep cool and does not burn anymore. You may lose more water weight sweating in hot humid weather but not the kind that are calories from foods. As for me, I find it hard to run in this type of weather I feel sick. Sure you sweat more but it doesnt mean you are burning more. If we sit outdoors in hot humid weather we are not burning any more not exercising we are just sweating excess water weight. Hope this helps.

The answers above are right, if you're running in hot humid weather, your body is sweating to try to cool off, not to burn calories, this is torture for your system. It's like going into a real hot sauna and jogging in place. Why would you want to do this to yourself?
While the temps are soaring, do something different. Run indoors at a YMCA or a gym, or a club, join a tye bo class, kickboxing, something cardio. We have alot of guys that normally run that are coming into the club now, they bought a month pass, so they can do something else, they ride the bikes, do the elliptical, treadmill, and work out on weights and they'll be doing this now until it cools down. I'd suggest the same for you as hot as it is. Hope this helps.....

Running in hotter, humid weather burns a LOT more calories, because the heat makes you sweat more, and when you sweat, you get rid of many things, such as salt, sugar etc, and all of the sweating makes your body work harder for energy, so it uses more calories.

You burn fewer calories when you exercise in cold weather than you do when it's hot. The hotter it is, the more extra work your heart has to do to prevent you from overheating. More than 70 percent of the energy produced by your muscles during exercise is lost as heat. So the harder you exercise, the hotter your muscles become. In hot weather, not only must your heart pump extra blood to bring oxygen to your muscles, it must also pump hot blood from your heated muscles to your skin where heat can be dissipated.

On the other hand, in cold weather, your heart only has to pump blood to your muscles and very little extra blood to your skin to dissipate heat. Your muscles produce so much heat during exercise that your body does not need to produce more heat to keep you warm. So your heart works harder and you burn more calories in hot weather. This information should not discourage you from exercising when it’s cold, because staying in shape is a year-round proposition. However, it may help to explain why so many people find the pounds creeping on in the wintertime, even when they stay active.

It may burn more because your body has to work more, but please be careful. don't risk heat stroke or dehydration if you are uncomfortable. Make sure to drink lots of water.
