or will it get confiscated at the airport customs? My future employer says there is no problem at all bringing computers and other personal effects into the country (I'm not talking about religious items etc, just about the good ole laptop).

Theres no problem in bringing the laptop for sure , and just as others have adviced dont keep anything porn or which even remotely resembles it. Also don't keep anything which has idol images like photos of any Gods etc.

There is no problem bringing the laptop as long as you do not store illegal and forbidden files in it. The costums will not confiscate it but it might be subject for inspection and security check.

Bringing a laptop shouldn't be a problem.
but the customs checks for any CD/DVD wallet you may have, give you a receipt, and keeps it for couple of days to check it,
if all legal (no porn, ...) it will be returned to you later.

i live in saudi.. and i dont think its any problim bringin ur laptop with u.. mybe dont bring unwated cd's dvd's with u.. and things that are illegal .. like mags with nudety or any other thin that might offend the religion?
