The thing that creates a difference between denominations are the man-made laws they build in their churches. I am a Christian, I believe what the Bible tells me, that's why I'm not real fond of denominations. I don't need man inserting his laws into God's word. I'm sure each denomination might say that theirs is the closest to God's teachings but there is no real single answer to that question.

In the USA probably Baptist, Amish, Presbyterian, and maybe some of the hybrids like Calvary Chapel. Today most churches have 'evolved' in their style of worship. When the reformation happened there were groups called "radical reformers" like the Anabaptist. They threw out all the sacraments and ordinances and worship. The started at the book of Acts They believed (and rightly so) that the church (RC) had become corrupt. So they tried to take worship back to the basics. They did a fair job. But churches change with the generations. Some became too strict while trying to prevent corruption from seeping back in. But there are some real good churches in the USA today. The Amish and the Independent Baptist may be a little too tight, but there are other churches that are near pure. The Bible Church movement, Calvary Chapel, American Baptist, Southern Baptist, Presbyterian are all good-different but okay.

Many of the denominations are "close" to the bible. I have been to several different ones and some teach from the bible some take only what they think is relevant, and some ignore almost all of it. It really depends on the one speaking and what he believes.

Remember, always let scripture interpret scripture. and if you doubt the translation you are using, check with several other translations or even the original language.

Well there are 2 bibles aren't there? The True bible, which is interpreted through 'eyes that can see' (Christed eyes) -- and the false bible; the one that is interpreted through a veil of ignorance and darkness and the 'luciferian principle' of inequity and barbarism. Once you remove the denominations and so called churches which are false.....it's very obvious what's left. :-)

What requirements of the "true" church does the bible have?
1) Prophets
2) Apostles
3) Temples
4) Revelation
5) Priesthood authority (healing, etc)
6) Named after Jesus Christ

Based on those (and I could list others, but that's all that comes to mind right now...), I'd say the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only one that fills the requirements.

I think Southern Baptist, but of course that is what I am, I started to put down Church of Christ but I forgot they don't allow musical instruments in church. I think Assembly of God stays pretty close too. Cornerstone is right on target, we just don'thave any around here. John Hagee, the pastor of Cornerstone in San Antonio, stays right with the Bible when teaching.

I just knew that Mormons and JW would claim this.. That is True is Jesus. that's all just Jesus. Mormons have added a different Gospel other that the simplicity of Jesus. The JW add and take away the words of scripture that they can't make work... Jesus said that HE is the Way.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Easy, the one that speaks to your soul and makes you want to follow the teachings of the good book. There is no one answer.Your personal relationship with god is more important than your religious affiliation. That is why no one religion is actually mentioned in the bible.
