We should be able to live off faith, and accept other people's faith. But we don't. Some ask questions, some believe their belief is absolutely right and everybody else is wrong. This sets up an agenda for needing to prove things, even though it shouldn't be necessary.
If you have faith in your beliefs, then get on with it. Try not to be offended by other people's faiths, keep an open mind, and be ready to accept there is not absolute proof for faith.

Because faith is a belief in something without questioning it if we lived on faith alone and had always done we would still be sat in a cave. We need proof as proof can provide the truth and the truth leads to knowledge and knowledge leads to a better life for everybody. Say no to jesus.

Answers are GOOD things. For instance, if your question is. "Is the tumor malignant?", I'm pretty sure you don't want to hear "I have faith that it's not" as an answer. Evidence, inquiry, and analysis are important in all human endeavours. They are the methods by which we advance the well-being and potential of the human race.
We need proof because we are fallible. By gaining proof, we become less fallible.

Rational people do NOT require an answer for everything... and science does not do 'proof'. Proof is for mathematicians, coin collectors and distillers of alcoholic beverages. Sometimes, the answer is "We don't know... yet; check back with us later... we might know more then."
Religion, on the other hand, operates by creating the illusion of knowledge. Faith is a substitute for evidence. Belief is a substitute for knowledge. Neither faith nor belief are sufficient to sustain reason... they are only sufficient to sustain willful ignorance and delusion.
So, it seems to me that if you are to be congratulated for anything, it should be your ability to maintain a world view that seems to be constructed entirely of misconceptions.

Your high Ideals are commendable. However, if we lived on Faith alone, Con-men would completely take over society. Needing Proof of claims is a GOOD Idea. Don't you agree?

Because faith is weak, my friend. Christians all claim to be living on faith, and yet most fear death. Why do they fear death? Because death is an unknown.....but it wouldn't be if you truly had faith because you would have the Bible to guide you. If Christian faith were truly as strong as it's supposed to be, Christians would be committing self-genecide around the globe, drooling to get into heaven.....as long as they asked for forgiveness before the blood drained from their veins, they're guaranteed entrance to heaven.....so why isn't this happening? Because faith is not that strong. I like Blackacre's answer, too......

Faith is only the first step. And many believers make excuses for thier doubts and fears by trying to use Scripture. But it cannot be done. For Scripture is about overcoming doubt and fear.
Christ did not want us have a blind faith. But to experience our spirituality first hand. Christ is not taught
in word, but in POWER!

Because absent proof, one is simply making an *** of themself.
For example: if I told you that the Universe was created by a purple duck that farted matter into a vacuum, you would want evidence. If you simply fell to your knees to pray to the duck, people would assume you were mentally challenged.

Why should anyone live off faith? Is that how you live the rest of your life as well, or do you want real information in the real world?

I totally get that! People are always searching for answers and trying to complicate things when it's right in front of them!! I know God exists and I don't need a scientific answer to prove it!!!
