I have a B.A. in Child Development - I haven't heard of the Certicate of Proficiency (but I haven't worked in the field for 12 years). It might depend on what state you are in. I'm sure you could get a job with your certificate, but you might be limited in what type of position. You might qualify for an assistant but not a lead teacher, that type of thing. I think whoever you took your classes from should have given you information about what positions you qualify for with the certificate you have!

Most places require a CDA for you to work as a para for a teacher. You would have to go to most preschool's and find out what they accept in your state. Private daycares accept differnt qualifications then state sponsored.
