Yep. It isn't always needed, but you should get one if you want to become a chef at a top restaurant. You'll learn how to cook, prepare for competitions, and do some of the cool things you see on the food network. Some schools to look at are Johnson and Wales and Alfred State College. BTW-- it is an AAS degree-- associates of applied science.

The truth is the study of culinary arts is "cooking" and yes it does require an AS degree. Some junior colleges offer this major.

It is a "chef course".
