Since my puppies are both adopted mixes, I can't go by the breed. My baby boy is a pitbull mix and is 5 months old. My baby girl is an american bulldog mix, 4 months old. We don't know what either was mixed with. I heard somewhere that at 6 months they should be 75-80 percent grown. Does anyone know this to be true or any other way to figure it out with puppy mixes? Also I've been told to look at their paws, but that does not help me. I see that their paws are big, but they look normal on their body, that doesn't help me with how big they will be when they are done growing. Last time we were at the vet, for Bailey he was 4 months he was 27 pounds and Rylee at 3 months was 19 pounds. Any guesses are appreciated?!

Well at the age of 12 months that is when you stop puppy food and begin adult food. So 1 year. Larger dogs do not stop growing fully till the age of 2 years. They may reach their height at the age of 1, but add bulk in muscle till the age of two. I'd say you pit mix will be somewheres around 50 lbs and the american Bulldog mix around 70. Could be more. Depends on the mix

Growth rates vary between breeds, and depending on breed, dogs will reach their adult weight anywhere from 1-3 years. I suppose the same holds for mixed breeds, depending on the mix. One rule I have heard for a rough approximation is to take their weight at 4 months, double it and add up to 10 pounds to get their adult weight. I have heard this is inaccurate with very large dog breeds which mature slowly. So, Bailey "should" end up in the 55-65 pound range. Really, there is no way to know for sure.

Most dogs are full grown at 2 years old, regardless of the breed.
Most vets recommend feeding them puppy food until at least one year because that is when the most growth occurs, but many say it is fine to feed puppy food until 2 years when development is complete. You won't see near as much growth in the 2nd year though. My Lab stopped growing around 9 or 10 months, and he just filled out during the second year. Hope this helps, good luck!

Most dogs are mostly full grown at 1 year and usually their bones are set at 18 months but some still grow until age 2. Age 1 1/2 - 2 years age is when you can stop calling your dog a puppy and call them a dog.

depending on the breed, usually 1-2 years. By the way if you do not want puppies, you better get them fixed asap. The female will be coming in her first season (6mos) and the male will be ready as well.
It's always best to not breed during first season.

It takes a year for them to fully devolp, the vet told me to neuter mine at 5 months, he, If they seem healthy don't worry about it, just like us they are full grown when they are.
