Pretty decent league, i think. According to the UEFA Rankings, Scotland is 11th out of 50- some countries, which is pretty strong - only about 20 % the European leagues are better. But still a bit away from leagues such as Spanish, English, Italian ! The real problem in Scotland is that the league has three good teams - Celtic, rangers and - to some extend - hearts lately! The rest needs to improve in order to have a really great league.
As far as comparing the MLS and the Scottish league, i think, it's a close call!
And as far as Celtic getting their butts kicked, here in the US, well, for one thing, Scotland is just beginning withe the season and here the season is at it's peak - major difference. And second, most European teams com to the states to relax and present themselves as top clubs and don't really take the matches too serious. It's more like a vacation to them. However, Celtic would have some problems - even major problems - against some of the top MLS teams. Considering both leagues being at their peak. That's why i said before, MLS vs Scotish league, is a close call.

The league as a whole struggle to make the top 10 in Europe and if you include the South American leagues then Im guessing Scotland would be 13th-14th in the world. As individual clubs though, Celtic & Rangers have always featured in the top 50 worldwide. Pre-season games aint the best indicator and Im sure in competiton, most SPL teams could compete easily with the best of the MLS although the MLS is the biggest and most improving league structure!

Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina, England, are all mainstream big business leagues and in the public eye. Places like the Czech Republic, Poland and Norway are less publisised. It depends really on things like say Juventus and co cheating. Is the Italian league better when there is cheating going on on a grand scale? Or is the English league a good league if Chelsea monopolise the title for years? In the world, Scotland is around 10th i'd say. I wouldn't look too much into games played in the pre-season. Teams don't really play to win, more to build up for when the real action starts.

It's definitely top 8 in Europe. That's how the Champions League is decided. The top 8 leagues in Europe get automatic bids to the knockout rounds of the tournament. UEFA rates the leagues every year in order to do this. I would think that the Brazilian & Argentine leagues are well respected as well. I guess the Scottish league is about 10th. Remember though that MLS has been playing a while and Europe leagues have not been, so they are not as fresh.

I consider how soccer is an extremely interesting interest. however the main important rationalization for those that hate it that I definitely have heard is the lack of scoring. in the USA of a, each and every consumer-friendly interest is extreme scoring. The NBA, there is not any protection so the score is one hundred-ninety each and every interest. In baseball, they many times score 7 or 8 cases mixed. Do you notice scores even on the threshold of that throughout soccer heck no. the sector is plenty larger and there is extra techniques-set in contact than some individuals think of. people who hate soccer say, its too gradual, there is not any exhilaration? What do you recommend? there is not any stalling in soccer, the ball is often moving around from man or woman to man or woman. while there's a clean attack on purpose, i think of its the main interesting factor in all of activities.

Maybe it's a little of home field advantage? The scottish league is way better than the MLS.
