I need fairly easy crafts that can be made with items you find in your house. I have to babysit tomorrow and need some ideas to keep her occupied! Thanks!

Use plain card, coloured wrapping paper, glue and glitter glue... make a nice card for mother, something like an 'I love you card'. It will keep the child amused and mother will be over joyed with such a gift... trust me I'm a mother, we get sentimental about things like that, she'll probably keep it for years, then embarrass the poor girl with it on her wedding day. That's the sort of things us mopthers do...it's obligatory, written into the job description.

Coloring or finger paints?

You could cut out some shapes and decorate them with glitter and glue. There are some glitter sticks that work like glue and you probably won't get glitter all over the place.

Bring some stickers and a coloringg book. There are also some colorin books that work with watercolors.

Good luck!

One really easy thing is to get out some old magazines that you don't mind cutting up and letting her pick pictures out of it that she likes. You can cut out the pictures for her, and she can use a glue stick to put them on a piece of paper. You can make a collage with a theme, like foods, and group them according to food group (or just put healthy food on one side, junk food on the other, and see if she can figure out what side a food would belong on), or let her make a toy wishlist. If she chooses a variety of pictures, you could ask her to make up a sentence or a story about her pictures that you could write on the page.

You can let her trace her hand on construction paper, then you cut around the traced hand, decorate it with darwings and glitter, and then hang them on a string with popcorn and other decorative things.
