We need to know what's going on, we want to know when family/friends are happy so we can celebrate with them. When their sad/hurt so we can comfort them. Most women like to lean on each other for support, we learn from other people's mistakes and that makes us better in our own relationships. If you don't want to hear it just leave the room or ask them not to talk to you about it.

Women tend to focus on things that aren't their business, such as relationships, because it fuels our own romantic views on life.
