I have a 4 and a half month golden puppy. the vet just gave him a bordatella vaccine. They said it required a booster after 3 weeks.
It has always been that the vaccine lasts 6 months. Why the booster at 3 weeks after initial vaccination?

I have never heard of anyone giving a bordatella booster 3 weeks later.

I don't know why you would tax a young puppies system with an unneeded shot anyway. His body is probably already dealing with the onslaught of his required shots.

To build the immunity...not all vets (unfortunately) do this. Most highly recommend it, but it usually gets put by the wayside...Most clients for get to come back, or have always thought of it as a 6 month vaccine. Either way, you take your chances...I would get it if your vet recommends it.
