I know this is weird but be yourself! One thing you most know what to do with a close friend as a girl is give them flowers! We all love Orkends! Then they'll relize u have feelings for them. Belive me it always works on me! lol.

I look at all of my guy friends as a brother or father figure because I am not interested in them in a way that is relationship material. There is nothing you can do to change this...you have to continue to be yourself until the special one comes along. I had a similar problen. Growing up I was considered just one of the guys, played sports with them, went fishing with them, and can drink any of them under the table.I used to think I would never find a man who looked at me any different. Even though I am a attractive fun woman, I was always the buddy, then I found someone out of nowhere that conneceted with me as more than just a basketball partner.

I would personally say that your taking far too long to make your 'move'.

you are getting stuck in the 'friends trap' where the conversation on her side is basically saying "but i don't want to ruin the friendship we have"

I too have also fallen into this trap in the past, be more upfront about your intentions without being explicit (well i suppose you could be explicit depending on the target)

just don't be stuck at friends, the worst that can happen is she says "no" and walks out, which while sad at the time you will get over it, far better then having a friend who you fancy a lot, but knowing that friends is all it will be.

Let them know your intentions up front. Dont always be friends first if you know you want more. Let her know you would like to get to know her more but would like to be more then friends. Then the decision is hers and you wont be in the "friends only" trap forever. And maybe the age range might help if you're looked at as a big brother or father figure maybe try dating someone closer to your age.

I had that problem. Nothing is worse than a girl saying, "You know, I love you, you're just like a brother to me". It's ok when it was the girls in my band, because I did look to them as sisters with no romantic interest, but for girls that I dated and got close to, it sucked. Thankfully those days are over.
