They are caused by a virus (or so I've heard)
Besides having a Dr freeze, cut or burnthem off theres a lot of over the counter stuff.
Supposedly covering them with ducktape also kills them, but it takes a while

A wart is generally a small, rough, cauliflower-like growth, typically on hands and feet. Warts are common, and are caused by a viral infection, specifically by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Some scientists believe they are also caused by stress. They typically disappear after a few months but can last for years and can recur. A few Papilloma viruses are known to cause cancer. Certain types of warts, depending on location and cause, can be contagious from region to region, but are not transferable between species

A word of warning check the instructions on ointments as most of them should not be used if you are diabetic.
I have had a verruca (plantar wart) for several years. Had two courses of freezing, tried duct tape, lavendar oil, thuja ointment, a Danish organic remedy ordered over the net, rubbing with a paste made from bicarbonate of soda and olive oil which my sister said worked for her. It's still there. Might just try that peapod idea since I grew some this year.

Stop being so naughty !
Seriously, warts are caused by a bacteria. You can buy wart removal pads or ointments at your local drug store. You can also go to your doctor and he can freeze them off or cut them out.
If you have venereal warts( an STD ) you're stuck w/ them for life. Go see your doctor and get professional advice.

Seriously the best way to get rid of a wart is to put a small piece of duct tape on it and change to a fresh one every few days (of course as long as is concealable). I don't know why this works but it does!

warts a cuased by a virus. A friend of mine was recently told by her gp that they no longer use the cold spray to freeze them as this can damage the nerves around the wart. He told her to cover the wart on her sons elbow with superglue or duck tape as this smothers them so the die. it worked for her, but i would check with your own gp before doing this.

Warts are a viral infection and you get them by contacting others with the same. You get rid of them by salicylic acid or by other blistering agents.

I got told by the chemist that there was nothing much I could do unless I wanted to rub it with the inside of a pea pod at full moon. I was not much impressed. However assuming that you are in UK there is something called I think, Wartner, that is the liquid nitrogen they use at the drs to freeze it off with speical applicator for use at home- tried it on veruccas and did work ok. ~Better than anything else!

Warts are localised viral infections. They last a long time but are generally slow-growing.
There are various medical compounds that will get rid of them. Ask at your local chemist.
