I suppose if the other person was a sex offender or something then it would certainly matter. However, short of that or something else that goes against your beliefs then all you have to realize is that we all have pasts. Mine may be better or worse than yours but I do have one as do you.

As we age the more past live experience we are going to carry into relationships. So it's pretty important to be open minded.

Our past dictates who we are today. The most important thing is that we learn from our mistakes and move on. If by "past" you just mean a few bad decisions maybe an addiction (though you need to be careful I started dating a guy who told me he was a recovering cocaine addict and he's the one that got me started not all are like that though I just used poor judgement with him) then its probably not gonna hurt to to get to know them first before you decide to date. Obviously, if a persons past includes a horrible crime such as rape or murder, no you shouldnt date them. The fact that they were capable of commiting that crime in the first place would make it hard to trust that they wont do it again.

Contrary to popular belief people do make mistakes and people do change but you need to use your best judgement and go with your instincts cuz there are many people out there who just dont change.

Mulitple partners?? The biggest worry about that is STD's and whether he is was faithful or not. My fiance and I had HIV tests done at the same time you could request he/she get one. Its not a lot to ask now and days and it could save your life.

First of all it would depend on how far behind them their past is... they could be doing the same thing just not getting caught... from experience it would with me. It seems with many employers also... i would say that is your best bet is yes. When i met my husband i was really funny about that stuff because i kept getting caught up with losers. They either liked getting in trouble with the law, ruining my credit, or refusing to work. So i wanted his criminal, credit and job history. And questioned his use of drugs and drinking. I wasn't dating him till i knew we were after more of the same things. i didn't need it and my children didn't need it nor did my ex need any amo against me. There are some people who messed up once big time but not many and if they have messed up and you know they still do the same crap time will catch up with them.

It depends how far back in their past it is, and what it was. If the person was a serious criminal but has now legitimately turned over a new leaf, with a serious job and responsibilities that he continually meets, date him.

Ultimately you have to be with the person. If you are looking for a reason to not date this person, and you're using this for an excuse, give the person a chance; they might surprise you.

If you find that you are having to talk yourself into going out with this person, then this person has set off a red flag in your internal hard drive, if you will, and you should politely back out.

Yes and no. If u really want to date someone who has a rocky past just ask them if they would mind going to a clinic with u, and both of u get tested. That way u both feel secure with the relationship.

Kind of depends on what kind of past we're talking about. The past is just the past, but it is a fairly accurate record of character for most people.

I THINK YOUR FIRST DATE SHOULD BE TO THE BOARD OF HEALTH, THIS WAY BOTH OF YOU CAN BE TESTED FOR ALL KINDS OF STD'S AND SHE WONT FEEL BAD SINCE YOU WILL BE TAKING THE TEST AS WELL, I THINK IT'S THE SAFE THING TO DO, SINCE SHE HAS A VERY ACTIVE PAST. AND THIS WAY IF THE CONDOMS BREAK YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY AND MAKE SURE YOUR THE ONLY ONE SHE IS SLEEPING WITH LOL

That depends on what they did in their past. If its something like murdering their last mate then yes indeed. Well you see what I mean right.
