Many people are shallow and they can see only bad sides of immigration. I know that illegal immigration shouldn't have place. However, do you know what would have happened if all of the legal immigrants were gone?

There would be no nurses for a start and less inexpensive labour in the workforce.
The city economists have calculated that legal/economic migrants generate billions of pounds in different industries.
As far as illegal immigration is concerned, I imagine the statistics are less favourable.

Yes it would be like it was in the 50's! Not overpopulated! I would also say that if there wasn't so many "legal" immigrants it would force the lazy brits (you know, the ones on the dole who sit on their fat butts all day and claim they are "sick") to do a day's work and thus reduce the strain on the hardworking taxpayer. Oh and you wouldn't see so much countryside being bulldozed to make room for more houses because of over population (my lovely little village is currently being affected). Okay - answer this. How many more legal immigrants should Britain let in? Do you think it's a good thing that greenbelt land is being bulldozed and according to official reports the increase in the population is contributing to the water shortages across the country? I agree that immigration should be allowed but it should be "controlled" and when the limit is reached we should close our borders.

Legal immigration has widened our world view and broadened our society. Glasgow's number one culinary dish is the Indian Curry - haggis is on its way out!
I believe that legal immigration can only benefit society, but unfortunately illegal immigration is swamping our shores, reducing good will of the british towards foreigners coming here. The recent influx has put terrible strain on the most impoverished communities, and the ineffective and cruel treatment of those families that have to return to their homeland has horrified us all. The government ought to get a grip of this situation before we all vote BNP in protest.

Hey, could you guys use another 100 million Mexicans? They'd love you! Our Pew Hispanic Center says we have 30 million illegals here, and 70 million ready to come up!

And by legal immigrants do you mean Polish immigrants?
Because you people have reduced the wages and are about to screw the Brit. economy with all the benefit claims!Polish people even claim money from the Government for their children in Poland. They are not even born here. Are you calling that help???
