It's just evidence that many of them have lost the ability to think for themselves. I had a conversation with a christian about evolution, and all they could do was quote scripture at me. They eventually confessed that they didn't care what i had to say and though they fell short of saying they were closed minded... it was obvious that they were.

I have answered many questions with an intelligent and personal answer without quoting the Bible. There is nothing wrong with quoting from the Bible if you live by it and sometimes it is necessary to help someone understand why you believe the way you do but there are many Christians who are perfectly capable of giving intelligent and interesting answers without quoting. It's just too bad that so many of the questions posted here are not as intelligent as some of the answers.

I contribute to this site all the time, and I hardly ever quote the Bible.
And I'm a Christian, of the Roman Catholic variety.
I like to think I "contribute to this site" even if not everyone agrees with me all the time.
I always do my best to keep my answers (most of them anyway) logical and well-reasoned. That's contributing, isn't it?

I contribute often without passages, but if a person asks for something that requires the actual verse for proof, then I supply.
The verses are not a lack of creativity, they are just the facts that many Christians base their lives on in order to live in a positive world.
The Bible gives us the right words to live by and when you don't know these words, we are glad to share them! If you weren't curious about the word of God, you wouldn't ask questions about Christianity, God, Jesus, religion, ethics, prayer, etc. in a Religion and Spirituality room....would you?

You don't have to quote the bible just to be on this site all you need is to know God and He will lead and guide you.

I may not remember it chapter and verse, but I do remember it! I quote from memory, but not perfect memory and I sincerely hope I never misquote it or misrepresent it. If I have, I humbly ask God's and all those who've read my responses here for their forgiveness.

I answer questions without quoting scripture more often than not. That's a pretty rude comment you just made.
