I love haggis - I am Scottish and evey Sunday, even with a dreadful hangover, we tool up and take to the hills to catch a young one. It is difficult to spot their tartan feathers in the heather, but we usually come home with enough for everyone. They are very rich and you cannot eat lots of it, although it is lovely mixed with tatties and neeps and lots of whisky. Because they run like so quick, you have to be fast - sometimes a rugby tackle beats a bullet. The season is coming up now and why don't you come up to Scotland and see for yourself. Bring a kilt and bagpipes to raise the haggis from their slumber.

Haggis is beautiful, on toast with real butter, and a bit of red sauce! (you have to buy it from Scotland though or right north of England) other wise it tastes like S**T
Also can I recommend that if you like Haggis, please try some Irish white pudding, or some Beef Olives. Yummy yummy yummy i've got love in my tummy!

It is in essence a peasant's meal, mind you if you'd tasted the usual scottish fayre of everything fried in lard (including lard) then I don't suppose haggis is all that bad.

I kind of have to like it since I've been called that by my frinds since I was at school 25 years ago.
On the subject of the foodstuff - it tastes a bit like a sheeps stomach stuffed with meat and barley (Highlander) but yes, I do like it anyway!

Love it. Nothing better but it has to be a good one, not a cheap imitation from a supermarket. If you live in Scotland, there is an excellent butcher in Fort Augustus where I used to live, who makes his own. Fab!

I understand the tradition behind it, and deeply respect that.
Having said that, there's no question in my mind I will die of starvation before eating one bite of it! No offense, but waves of nausea overcome me even thinking about it.
