Think of Patience as a muscle.

You have to exercise it everyday for it to get strong.

So in all those little situations that frustrate you, you should try to regain your perspective and try to take the focus off your needs so much.

Example: Waiting in line at the store

Old (thinking to your self, getting impatient)
"Why is this line so slow, Argh. This clerk looks stupid. Why do I always get the lame-o line. $#!T now the lady in front of me has coupons...coupons? For stupid cat food? This is going to take all friggin day."

New: "This line doesn't seem to be getting anywhere fast. Oh well. Not a lot I can do about it. Might as well just try and chill. That poor clerk, she looks tired. It would probably be really hard to work retail. Wow, that lady ahead of me is using a lot of coupons, I wonder if she is living on her social security now. That must be hard. I'm glad I have a job and can afford to buy what I want. How sweet she is getting cat food. Well at least she has a cat to keep her company.

See the difference?
It takes you the same amount of time to get through the line, but one you are filled with rage and self righteousness that your troubles are so much more important. And the other you are a bit of calm in the storm. Your patience can be a breath of relief into other people's day.

Repeat after me:
"Patience is a muscle"
