Mom is 75, very orderly, clean, but needs help monitorying meds. getting out. She lives in Huntington Beach, Ca. Is there such a thing as a psych-nurse registry?

Try calling your mother's Dr's office & ask for a reference or referral. Or call your local hospital for references.

She doesn't need a psych nurse (I don't think psych nurses do home care anyway). You might want to try the yellow pages or see if her doctor has an agency that he recommends. Home care provided by nurses is more of dressings changes, IV's. You might need a home aide. I'm not sure that insurance will cover it but it's worth a try.

Look in the phone book under the category Home Health Aides or Home Care Aides, both of which include psychiatric nurses.
If that doesn't help, google it.

Contact the mental health office in your town...they will point you in the right direction.

try checking with your mentalhealth resource center in your area they should be able to recommend some avenues to pursue!!!
