Why is it when something tragic happens in your life or there are wars around the world and people starving etc and you ask a religious person "if God existed why did he let this happen?", they then come up with a ridiculous excuse that doesn't justify it? It's so annoying! It's like they've been brainwashed to come up with the same answer. What do you think?

The excuse is usually "because we are all his children and he wants you to learn from life's experiences" or something like that! Okay then, who can give me a better answer to why God let's these tragic things occur?

If i was god and my children were hurting each other i would get em by the scruff of the neck and ground them in their bedrooms with no dinner until they learned this was unacceptable behaviour. This is what parents do, although the actual method may differ - the point is parents try to teach their kids and disciplining them when they misbehave is important.

If the kids were left to their own devices and to figure it out for themselves then we would have a world full of feral children.

God, if he is our father ought to get a grip. Im going to phone the social work department and complain about this neglectful parent! ten points please!

God is not responsible for everything that happens in your life. He does not manipulate you. You make your own choices and you also get to bear the consequences.
God is not a puppeteer and we're not all automatically his children either.
If you want God to become your heavenly father and to care for you, you'll have to accept Jesus as the sacrifice for your sins and ask him to come and live in you.
Then and only then, can you "blame" God for whatever happens in your life.
It is amazing how many people go through life ignoring God, until something bad happens, at which point they suddenly remember that there probably is a God and that he must be the one responsible for their misfortune.....
As for the wars and the starving people, all I can say is that God is not fighting these wars, people are. Also, there is enough food on this planet to feed every single person that is alive today.
Do you really think it's God's fault that half (or a third or whatever the numbers) the population is struggling with obesity, while the other half is starving???
Think again.

I am not a religious person, but I am spiritual. That is, I have my own set of beliefs, I don't belong to a church or pay donations. Only the gods know who should live and who should die. They have the knowledge of good and evil, not man. Why ask a religious person about a tragedy? Why not just asking them to help? Starvation, on the other hand is a result of civilized society and totalitarian agriculture. An increase in food production causes an increase in population which in turn results in another increase in food. In other words, we are creating starvation by feeding people in a region of the world where the land cannot support that many. We feed them, they reproduce, there are more starving people next year. God is supposed to decide who will eat today and who will go hungry. But man says, "Screw that! We will grow all the food, cover the planet in food for our self and not live at the mercy of the gods!" We wage war over the land to grow our food on. If we went back to living in the hands of the gods there would not be so many tragedies. Tragedy is a product of civilized man.

Each individual is responsible for their own actions. With the human form of life, we are distinct from all other forms of life, because we have free will, this free will must be positively utilised through conscious choice.

The suffering that exists in the world is due to individual and collective misuse of free will, there is no Devil, as is propagated by some fundamentalists to lay the blame upon or abdicate responsibility upon, we are responsible.

The universal form is composed of a perfect state of duality, good and bad, up and down, hot and cold, etc etc, whatever activities we perform produces an equal and opposite effect, that will always return to a nullified central position, so violence begets violence, compassion begets compassion, as an example.

Individually we have to make the choice to live a spiritual life, perform devotional activities for the satisfaction of the Supreme, then the result will be completely different, to say the least, in comparescent to worldly activities based on lust, greed and anger, which are the royal pathways to negative reactions or suffering, to the same measure or degree that each individual gives, that will be the measure that they get, so this world is like a prison house, where souls are quarantined and rehabilitated (hopefully) by the reactions of their activities, produced by misuse of free will.

Life is not perfect. It would be heaven if there were none of this. Tragedy in this world is not because of God, people have made the world how it is. People are created with their own minds, they have the freewill to do good, bad or whatever. People starvin in third world countries etc, why is this still happening, Is it because no one really cares in this ignorant foolish world. The economy of this world is working that the rich are becoming richer and poor are becoming poorer. It is the ignorance and corruption of people. Also the tradegy like the tsunami and earthquakes, these are happening because the ozone layer is affected and evidence has been building up for several years that the cause is of human activities.

What is the ridiculous excuse!? How do "WE" know it doesn't justify it. And for that matter, how do "YOU" know it doesn't? Because you say so?

Not all religions believe the same thing anyway. Some think that it is God punishing us, some think that it is our own wrongdoings, and others think it's the devil wreaking havoc upon the earth.

You need to explain more. What religions are you talking about? All of them, because there are many.

And what makes it annoying, is it because you don't believe? Or is it because you believe in some other explanation?

Why do non-religious people have the same questions after they've been answered and answered by Christian people? How do they justify it? It's so annoying! It's like they've been brainwashed to come up with the same questions. Don't you think?

And before anyone thinks I'm being hateful - take a close look at the question I'm 'answering' because I mirrored my 'answer' after it.

most Christians don't read the bible, and only listen to what their priests tell them. like 'god wanted another angel'
it makes god look cruel, religion look pointless, and makes everyone confused.

however, the reason for this (natural disasters) is simple, god doesn't create earthquakes and natural disasters, he just can't help people.
HE CAN, just not yet, unfortunately the problem of god's sovereignty that was brought up back at the garden of Eden still is being fought, and although god would never be so cruel as to rub salt in the wound so to speak (of the fact humans inherited sin and choose to rebel against god and rule themselves by killing people with natural disasters,) humans made it clear they didn't need god and could rule themselves, so he wouldn't help them until the issue is settled, ,
(Ecclesiastes 8:9---(All this I have seen, and there was an applying of my heart to every work that has been done under the sun, [during] the time that man has dominated man to his injury.)

and than all those killed and injured ,thanks to Christ Jesus, will have an opportunity to be resurrected to a paradise earth, under god's protection.(john 5:28) we can be sure that jehovah god is more than eger to help those that have died and are miserable bevcause of this horrible system of things, its only a matter of time before he turns this world around for the better, and for all the human race.
the age of human disobedience is luckily coming to a close, and soon all these problems that came with human ruler ship and satanic follow ship will end.

Don't generalize! These are not excuses but facts for you license sinners that continue to live in sin daily. If you have read the bible you would know that wars and rumors of wars are caused by sinful mankind. The Earth is filled with sin and sinners and same goes for so called good people of the earth. Jesus said it rains and the just (good people) and the unjust (license sinners)! God didn't let it happen. We are corrupt thinking people that always got to have things our way. We are selfish and self righteous people who would feed ourselves before we feed a stranger! Non-religious/license sinners are not exempt because they lack morals and expect religious people to do good in the earth which is incompetence in their way of thinking. This is an annoying repetitious question. Try to think of a better one next time! Don't hurt ur brain!

So, what is your explanation of these things happening? On one side you do not believe in God and ridicule those who have faith in Him. On the other side you blame God for bad things that happen in your life or arround you?
So, what is your answer? If you think you have not been brainwashed yet... I think you need some brainwashing because your brain is full of dirty things. But first of all you have to get brain and then wash it very nicely. Then you might start to understand why certain things happen and who is responsible to that.

Things happen and its called life and why people have to blame god I really don't know, its not his fault there are idiots in this world is it, if man started blaming his own greed and lack of morals maybe god would be blamed less when things do go wrong, give the big guy a break and blame the ones in the wrong.
