Because they know that they sin, and don't want to face that reality. In seeing others that have faced the truth, confessed sin, accepted Jesus and have been cleansed and changed, they are more aware of their own sin. The light exposes their evil.

Hey, I'm right there with you. I, however, am a Christian and have a good feeling that most people will judge me based on my beliefs. But something I've read on here is that people seem to categorize Christians and judge them because they feel that Christians do the same to them.

It's not to say that there aren't small-minded Christians in the world, but there are small-minded non-Christians too. A persons personality is embedded in them no matter what they believe. I'm a very accepting person and I get to know everyone before I make a decision about them. I have gay friends, aetheist friends, jewish friends, buddhist friends...I love them all the same. I believe what I do because I can feel it in my heart. But if you don't, I wouldn't push it on you or force you to believe something you don't. That's not very Christian.

So just remember people, Christianity doesn't sway a persons beliefs, but a persons beliefs can sway the image of Christianity.

Personally I think it's because unfortunately some people have had bad experiences with some Christians who either forgot that it's not our job to judge people or didn't get to that part in the Bible. Some Christians think that because they're "Christian" they're better than anyone else who's not. That's not true Christianity.

I am not a christian either and am not religious. I think that sometimes people pick on christians because they are very closed minded at times. But the truth is, they are regular people with different opinions.

I don't think people mind Christians, per se. Most of the population of North America and Europe is Christian by affiliation with one church or another.

However, what I don't like (and this opinion is shared), is overbearing, self righteous Born Again Christians forcing their point of view down my throat.

I am Catholic (that is Christian, folks), and am happy with my religion, so I resent others telling me what I need to do to be saved.

That's funny, the Christians are blaming everyone else. Its the nature of religion. Only the Buddhists aren't blaming anyone.

Since Christianity has begun, Christians has faced persecution. Sometimes it is not easy to do the right thing. God blesses us for living by his will. People who dislike Christians are the ones who need Jesus the most.

Many of us have had serious run-ins with Christians, who thump their bibles and say that because of our faith (Jew, Catholic, Buddhist), we are all going to hell because we are not Christians.

It is theis overweening arrogance that makes many of us detest Christians, becuase we know we will hear that since I haven't accpeted Jesus as my personal savior, there is nothing I can do that will spare be from the eternal flames of hell.

In some cases, it reminds me of the sound a stick makes when it clatters around in the swill bucket.

I think it has to with the fact that most of the Christians that have things to say, end up coming off very judgemental. Especially if they know that your not a Christian and except their lord and savior. Just my thought.

People will always pick sides. I've read things here that bash christians, muslims, wiccans, gays, Mexicans, etc... it's crazy, but the annonimity makes it possible for some people to say anything without real consequences.
