Atheist here

They will admit it, but it's o.k. because they and their church's are forgiven

Murder, rape, child molestation are all o.k. as long as they accept the mythical jesus as their lord and savior.

Just one example:

Aileen Wuornos last statement before she was executed for murdering six people.

"I'd just like to say I'm sailing with the Rock and I'll be back like Independence Day with Jesus, June 6, like the movie, big mothership and all. I'll be back."

She had christians supporting her until her execution, helping her to "accept" jesus.

My favorite is Jeffrey Dahmer who would go to a gay nightclub on friday, bring a man home, drug him, rape his dead body, eat his flesh over the weekend, freezing what he couldn't eat. Then on the following sunday, he would go with his grandmother to church and ask "god" to free him of his "evil" compulsions.
God didn't answer that prayer. Maybe because jeffrey was just killing homosexuals. Killed 17 people in all.

The point is that theists do not hold a monopoly on making ethical decisions.

An integral part of the Christian faith..and of other faiths too is the understanding that we 'have failed' in our understanding, sharing and expression of unconditional love. As a human race on this planet..we have globally. The church has been poor custodians of the liberty, and fullness of life, Jesus tried to share while he was here...but that's where grace and humility needs to step in..and hopefully soon. I feel sorry for Mr Atheist..he's hurting like the rest of us..but has nowhere to take it...it turns inward and makes you cynical and jaundiced towards others, blaming, prejudice, accusation through fear..So there seems to be no higher moral ground upon which anyone can stand to point the finger!! We are all part of the problem.....you need a lot of faith believe there's no creator being, so he has hope! Yes, the church fails..but the genuine light it shines upon people has been the difference between life and death for many millions.

We cannot judge lest we be judged! I can't say that one area of christianity is better than the other, Nor can I say that because of the non-believers or whoever exist that my God created a bad mold of people that need to be eradicated. I would be so grateful if noone opposed my faith, or if there were'nt any difference between me and the next man but, what kind of world would this be? I would certainly hate to wake up in the morning and instead of looking in the mirror I would just go outside and look at someone else to see my reflection!!! I hope this was a good enough non bias and informative answer for you and have a blessed day! Hugs!

I am a christian and I admit that probably 60% of the things done in the name of Christianity have been not in accordance with Jesus.
The exception and main saving grace is the work that is done with the poor in third world countries.
Many fellow Christians would argue against me on this fact but they are not my judge.

Remember a Camel has a better chance to pass through a needle than a rich man into heaven.

God bless

Sure: The Crusades, persecution of Jews, Spanish Inquisition, pedophile priests, supporting or not taking a stand against slavery, oppressing women.....many things were done in name of Christianity. The thing is, THEY WERE NOT CHRISTIAN ACTIONS. They were motivated by politics or personal desire for power. Christians are human, and just as susceptible to human desires as anybody. But I would like to think that the amount of good done by Christians (Mother Teresa, food pantries, helping hurricane/tsunami victims, for example) has at least balanced it out a bit.

And by the way, it's "their," not "there".

Christians are humans, and all Churches are made up of humans.

People make mistakes and People sin. Sad fact of life.

We all need repentance at times!

nope, I doubt it. I mean, I've been bullied by a nun for 2 years, just because I won't convert. but 'god has forgiven her sins' and she's all 'holier than thou' so f*** her.
