I am from Texas, that would make me a southerner. My favorite brand is Luzianne iced tea bags. Follow the instructions but add about a cup of sugar when the tea is still hot so all the sugar will dissolve quickly.

2 cups sugar
1/2 gallon water
1 tray ice cubes
3 family sized teabags of orange pekoe tea
3 cups cold water, or as needed
Pour the sugar into a large pitcher. Bring water to a boil in a large pan. When the water begins to boil, remove from the heat, and place the teabags in. Let steep for 5 to 6 minutes.
Remove tea bags, and return tea to the heat. Bring just to a boil, then pour into the pitcher, and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Fill the pitcher half way with ice, and stir until most of it melts. Then fill the pitcher the rest of the way with cold water, and stir until blended.

Boil 3 (family sized)tea bags.
Let the tea bags seep for 3 mins afterwards.
Add 2 cups of sugar.
This will make 1 gallon of very good sweet tea
You will be a hit!!
You can also add fresh cut lemons on the side of the glass

Fill pitcher with cold filtered water to 2 liter mark, pour 2 cups into a measuring cup, cover and heat in microwave for 2:30 minutes, put in tea bags and submerged them completely, cover and heat for 2:30 more minutes, remove and steep for 10 minutes. Add sugar to remaining water in pitcher, stir until dissolved. Remove tea bags and discard(I do not squeeze) pour tea into pitcher and serve over ice...
