Message: trust me there are many christians on Yahoo Answers that are hateful and bigoted and some are out right nazi if ya ask me and if you think christianity is full of love read what some of the fundamentalist say about gays and atheist all the time then you will understand why i am not a christian

My response:
I am sorry that others have treated you badly in the name of Christ. I do think that Christianity is full of love but part of love is not always fun - like when a parent punishes a child for doing wrong in order to teach that child to do right. I do not agree with the choices gay people and aethiests have made as I believe these choices do not match up with what God would have us do, but I do not harshly judge nor condemn them to Hell. That is not my job. I hope this explanation helps you in some way.

I do not hate you nor others even if I do not agree with their choices - I mean it is every person's individual choice and not up to me to force you to live as I'd like right? Best wishes with your future, search for truth, and the search for the loving God that I know and love, and any choices you must make in your life. I truly wish you the best.

allilue - I was actually comparing God's love like a 'parent loving a child' - not my message.

I love your wording of this message, it is exactly how I feel but cannot say, as my capacity for getting my point across likes to get lost. Thanks for the great message, many people should listen to it! :)

Christians, like atheist or Muslims, or teachers, or painter, or tall people, or left handed people, ot educated people, or any other group of people, unfortunately come with all kinds of personalities. Some are nice, some or not.

I am reminded of a statement CS Lewis has in his book "Mere Christianity". He said he knew an atheist butcher was a kind and generous man, and Christian baker who was stingy, rude and obnixious. He asked God how that baker could be so bad if he was a Christian, and God simply said "You should of seen how much worst he was before I got ahold of him".

It is do bad that so many of the discussions on this group degrade to nothing more than "Its all a lie" form one side and "You're going to fry" from the other. Hopefully some of us who are offended by that can have some serious conversations about faith and God...and ignore the jerks on both sides.

You will both be in my prayers today,,,

So, I'm not guardian angel, but I agree with her. You compare your conversations with non-Christians to that of "a parent punishes a child for doing wrong in order to teach that child to do right." No wonder people get sick of the self-righteous BS that comes out of you people. I have two parents who raised me right. And you are not either of them. Implying a parent/child relationship implies wisdom and knowledge, and does come across as condescending and self-righteous. I don't care what your intentions are, people do not want to hear that crap.

Who said God did not condemn homosexual? Didn't God send two angel and utterly destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah? Didn't Paul write in Roman 1:26-28"26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. 28Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice." I am not condemning any body, but I am referring to the Bible that condemned such acts. Just because the Bible teaches the absolute truth, you renounce it and claim the bible to be unacceptable to you and describe it to be ******** I would not dare even to write down how the words homosexual say about the Bible with their words, which is a holy book written by the Holy Spirit.
