I loved my best friend something fierce and he couldn't stop doing drugs and now he's dead because of them. You have to realize that you are a rare breed when it comes to drug abuse because you were able to stop cold turkey, and you are very fortunate. Most people have the hardest time staying away from drugs because more than anything they are a mental addiction. You are going to have to distance yourself away from your boyfriend unfortunately because it is obvious that unless you step in with some major intervention he is not going to stop based merely on your disapproval. I don't know what else to say because this is a very personal issue because my relationship with my friend was never the same before his death. You have to truly ask yourself if your own personal well being is better with or without this relationship and base your plan of action from there. I truly hope this helps.

All you can do is try to help him quit, but if he's been on it for as long as you say, you're going to need a lot more than one person to help him change his mind. I've used that stuff myself, and it's NOT cool. My best guess would be for you to try to reward him for NOT using it. If you can somehow convince him to do something else that would replace it and be a lot more fun, he just MIGHT change his mind and decide not to use it - this time. Then you could build on that. Remember that this is a big problem and he's miserable. That's why he uses it, to get high. Find another way to get him high without the drugs, and that would be my best answer for you. I really hope it helps. Good luck!

You should be glad you did not get addicted. It is a mystery to me why people even try drugs that are so addictive. If he won't get help to quit this he will have a miserable life, and so will you if you stay with him. My best advice is to get free of him and stay away from drugs-it's like having no life at all.
