Why do celebrities think they must be skinny to be accepted?

I was very sad, when doing a research about anorexia and saw Mary Kate Olsen so skinny, I grew up with these twins , I still remember then in that show where they were just babies, Hilary Duff new look also scaried me, she is so sweet.
I mean USA is the fattest country in the world so why do they think they must look like that to be liked?

i think it is sad for these celebrities to be skin and bones and think they have to wear a size 2,, i dont think they need to do this because some of their viewers are young girls and that bothers me,, i would hate to see an anorexia 11 year old, that would break my heart and they do it so they can look fake and skinny like the ladies on tv,, i tell ya this im a proud bbw and i teach my daughter every day that it is okay to be a large lady

Because in today's society you have to bee then to "look good" no one wants to see fat hanging.I know its crazy and sad .Especially for us girls guys wants us to be sticks so they can talk to us. Shoot got me even afraid of getting fat.I'm 21 6ft and 140,and want to stay like this or maybe lose a few more pounds.So sad but what can you do when everyone out there is saying "thin is in"

b/c they have so much pressure on them with the tabloids and the news and everything so they think they are really fat and then they get anorexic. they think that people would except them then !!!
