It has been suggested that the Amendendment to the US Constitution to ban same sex Marriage is based on God's Law as found in Leviticus 18:22 where God says lieing with a man like another man is an abomination.
I am curious, since I want to follow God's Law, should we also repeal the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments immediately, since Leviticus 25:44 specifies the conditions I can have for owning slaves?
I know many of you are going to tell me that Romans 1 (and the smart ones will tell me 1 Corinthians 6:9) is where in the New Testement the New Testement backs the Leviticus 18:22.
So where in the New Testement do we see the eilmination of the slavery provisions of Leviticus 25:44?
I want to own slaves and obey God and Praise the Lord and Praise his holy name Jesus.
Additionally, Deuteronomy 13:6-10 instructs us to kill non believers. Shouldn't we start rounding up non-Christians and get an amendment to the US Constitution Amendment 1?

If you are religious and you find this question insulting, imagine how non-Christians feel when they read someone talking about wanting to ban gay marriage because of God's law.
FYI I am not a Christian!

I see the majority of xtians kept WELL away from your excellently referenced question and those who were brave(or stupid)enough to attempt a response worthy of being read, gave decidedly lackluster retorts.
I wonder why...(smile)...
Well done! Your dedication to pedantry puts us all to shame.

Yes. I am glad you read the Bible I read the Bible you see we know it's a sin. But they think I judge. 1 Corinthians 6:9 (Whole Chapter)
Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality.
Slavery isn't against the Bible as long as you don't kill, rape or steal like the slave owners did.

Render to Cesar things unto Cesar. (God has his laws, Governments have there's.)
To clarify gods laws from the old testament, Jesus said of all the laws, the most important are, to love god with all your heart and with all your soul. And the second is to love your neighbor as your self. And all other laws must follow those two rules to be in accordance with god.

Wonderful point. Very well put. This is a very good argument I think all Christians who are opposed to gay marriage should read and understand. But since they have selective hearing AND selective reading abilities, they won't understand. But still, great point! And yet another example of contradiction in the Bible.

Actually, where do any of our laws come from in the US? Did we have to vote to make murder a crime? Stealing? I don't think so. The concept of marriage came from somewhere as well. Where would that be? I'll let someone smarter than me to make the point that our Republic was founded on something greater than the opinion of the majority. It is times like these that I sympathize with Plato's opinion of democracy.

You didn't use circular logic.. will it be understood?
Those who agree with the biblical interpretations are the same ones who believe the country was actually founded on christianity and that the word 'god' has been in the pledge longer than when Eisenhower added it.

One answer stated the bible must not be literally read. How is it to be read? God said a lot of funny things. God hates humans.

It's a flat, flat world ... If we could regress (in knowledge, history, science, and sociology) maybe it will all be right as rain ... Less medicine, lynchmob justice , less reading, mingle church and states again .. violence ,death, brief penury lives ... God on earth ...

you've done your homework... we must always put in mind that the bible must not be literally read. also, try to remember that religion and government must never be incorporated with each other because both have conflicting terms.
