I had a foot condition. I asked my doctor if accupuncture would help and she said yes. I went in that direction and the condition was cured; the cost was $225. Would medicare cover this?

Sorry not sure about US, but I know in the UK, health insurance covers acupuncture (and other 'complementary' therapies) for a limited amount, usually around £300 ($650 ish) which is generally enough for one course of treatment.

Best wishes......and if it is not covered, please write to them to tell them it should be.....it is really unfair if people are denied access to these therapies because of finances.

You would have to check with Medicare, if that is what you have. Just because a doctor recommends it doesn't mean that your plan will pay for it.

You should contact medicare or look at your policy. Otherwise, it's definitely out of pocket.
