i wnt to give an statment in color coded way. say that i have marks in A colom. i wnt to give OK in green if Marks are heighere than 80. if i type =IF(A1>80, "OK") in fomula bar ,OK will apear in Black. how to show it with color redhow can i do so.

This is called "Conditional Formatting". Select cell A1 type in the word "Test". Select cell A1 and go to the Excel menu and select "Format" then "Conditonal Formatting..." you will see the words "Cell Value is" select this "drop-down" list and select "Formula is" in the blank box to the right type in the formula =A1>80 then click the "Format" button underneath "Color:" select the green color.

Now click the "Add>>" button to add another condition. Select "Formula is" again, this time type in blank box =A1<40, format font as "Black", . Click "OK".

Click FORMAT - Conditional Formatting. Follow the instructions.
