Oftentimes it's a curse of genetics. I have nice ankles but my sister has the tree-trunk ankles of our paternal grandmother, even though she's thinner than I am. I don't point this out to her, that would be mean, but she's always been prettier than I am so it's fair that she's got thick ankles.

I have a friend who even after having a kid, remained totally skinny with little muscle on her legs. They did get a little more "beef" on them when we were working out together 5 times a week, doing cardio on bikes or treadmills and working on the circuit machines. If you're already working out, maybe a few changes in your routine will help.

There is something in our perspective about our own bodies that makes us judge ourselves harshly. If you're still in school or still in the town where you grew up you might have immature people teasing you, but they're probably just jealous.

Along with the perspective is the perspective you are studying your legs at. Are you looking down at them? You probably have never had that view of another persons legs like that and you probably have never studied another persons legs the way you do to yours. Now promise me you'll stop doing this.

If you are worrying that you don't have a boyfriend because of your legs, you're looking in the wrong place. It's your self-esteem that needs work. When you love yourself and approve of yourself, you know your shortcomings and you do what you can to fix them, but you always accept them because you know that you're more than a pretty pair of legs. You're a whole, interesting, giving, caring, fun, human being! (or whatever your good qualities are...)

Good luck!

First of all, don't ever compare your legs to anyone elses, especially the ones on T.V. Everyone's different, it doesn't matter if your legs are different than other peoples, its actually a good thing. It's probably just your imagination, like there are certain things about my "figure" that I can't stand... but my older sister and my friends all say it looks good. I used to compare myself to my sister all the time, it only made me feel worse about my apperance. And it did me absolutely no good.
Don't worry about it, just accept the fact that, that's who you are... and its not a bad thing at all.
Most of the time I see myself different then other people see me. Everyone feels that way... even the people you admire.

Do the best you can, work out and try to eat right. Most of the images of people's legs you see on tv and in magazines are digitally enhanced and a lot of celebrities use bronzers and oils to make their skin look even toned.

Doing some sort of regular excrcise like running, walking or biking helps develop muscles in your legs.

You should also try and eat a balanced diet that includes as many fresh fruits and vegetables as you can. This will be seasonal, but it keeps down on things you get from preservatives in dried or canned fruits and vegetables. Also (if you aren't a vegetarian) try to keep the kinds of meats you eat varied. Eat fish, red meats and white meats in moderation (don't eat too much of one kind).

If you want to build up muscles and trength in the rest of your body I would suggest yoga, kick boxing or some kind of martial arts. If there's a gym locally where you live then try to go there and find out what kinds of excercises they'd reccomend.

exercise but too much exercise also makes them look weird like too curvy.. having long legs is genetic .. though just eat right so that they dont become flabby.. and it also depends on the length of the skirt or shorts u are wearing.. some outfits make the legs appear longer.. so u shud pay attention to that.

You should to some light strength training. It will give your muscles a slightly rounder fuller appearance, and also make them firmer.

Talk to a trainer or counselor at the gym, they can give you a good routine to work with. Slightly weighted squats will help develop your butt as well as legs.

Do lots of walking, squats and lunges, then stretch out. It is muscle definition that gives a good shape and these exercises will tone without bulking.

A very cheap way is find a step around your house and step up and down thirty times each day. It helps give shapely calves and a nice bottom.

i did a lot of horseback riding when i was growing up and swimming. i'm glad i never did any weight stuff cuz i think legs don't look good if they're too muscular, but whatever you decide to do it should be more towards toning than making muscles.
