i also have black hair and the best highlight is shades of blonde and brown it will look amazing go to a professional hair salon and look and their shades of blonde and brown and ask them what they think what will look best on ur hair

My hair is basically black (it's a really dark brown that looks black) and I've been thinking the same thing. I've asked lots of hair stylists (one of them is my mom) and they think the best color would be RED. Since your hair is so dark, they might not be that noticable the first time you color your hair. However, if you dye your hair a lighter color then highlight it it might work. That could damage your hair more though. I think you should try red because that has the most chance of showing up and looking great on your hair. The best thing to do is to get it done at a salon. Much better results!

Highlights on black hair is not ugly. I know this one girl that had black hair and she did red highlights, and then she did blonde highlights when those got washed out. Maybe light brown could work for you. My hair is dark blonde, and i wanted to get blonde highlights, but im not sure which way to do it. I hope you find something that works, Good Luck!

yuuup. die ur hair brown...but dont do blonde highlights! do maybe an auburnish color or lighter brown...or if u dont wanna do that, then dye ur hair that one color....its black, but in the sunlight, it looks blue. idk what its called, but u can find out easily by someone at the salon or something

red would probably be best... if you don't want to go red, use carmel, it looks great on dark hair! 8~D
