I had a golden retriever named Wally. He ate everything. My boots, my mocassins, my mattress, the garden hose, the insulation off my AC, my sister's slippers, and more. He ran away. I'm glad.

I had a australian cattle dog when I was 10. Her name was Sydney. We got her at a flea market. We had her for about a week when she started scratching the walls apart. We didn't know what was going on. She also started biting at my little brother. She was too energetic for us, so we had to find her a new home. It turned out that a farmer and his wife needed a dog because the wife's poodle died and the farmer needed a herder because he had to herd up the cattle with golf carts. We took her there and she took to the cattle immediately. She started creeping up on them like she did this all her life. All of my family cried, and even though we would miss her, we knew that we were doing the right thing.
A couple years later, my dad was looking at dogs at the pound and he saw the cutest and sweetest dog there. He was a bearded collie. He called my mom, brother and I and we fell in love with him and got him and named him Parker. He is the best dog I ever had.

You want a dog story? Let me tell you about Southcrest Phantom Spirit - "Ghostie".
I am 45 years old. All my life, others have dictated my pets. I am now divorced and live my own life. 2 of my kids are grown and I only have 1 left at home. I have always had "throw-away" dogs (pound puppies, side of the road strays, etc). I have alway watched dog shows and wanted to do that. I didn't know why but always wanted to give it a try. So, with my favorite breed being sheltie, I searched until I found someone who would trust me with a show puppy. I worked with her, I loved her, I won lots of ribbons with her. She was black and white (a bi-black). She would come up and bump her nose into my cheek. She would insist that I put baby carrots in her water bowl so she could dunk her head all the way in to grab one.
My crazy neighbors hate dogs. They will stand in their back yard and bark at my dogs to make them bark and will run in and call animal control. Animal control finally had enough and told them to stop barking at my dogs. That made them angry and they poisoned my Ghostie. She died before I even knew what happened. When I carried her out to take her to the vet for a necropsie, all of the other dogs sat and as I walked by, touched their noses to her in farewell.
Now my little Ghostie is waiting at the rainbow bridge for me to come and walk her home.

I have a dog story. My dog name is Snowball. We got that name from our neighbor because she's white like snow. But any way one day we found out that my dog was pregent. We were happy. But every time my mother would come back from the store or something Snowball would come out of her house and watch my mother go in the house. This time she didn't do that. She went in the back of her house and my mother followed her and seen 2 of her puppies that had passed away. We were sad but that's not the end. She was still in labor but before I tell u this she was going to be 1 in October. We put her on the porch with some covers and we had every thing that the animal doctor told us to have and we were set to go. Snowball had to 2 that were born deceise like the other 2 because they had worms in there mouth which our dog shouldn't have because we give her medicine for it, yet she treated them like they were still alive which was wierd. She had 2 more that were alive. As she cleaned them she began to eat them we tried to stop her by calling her name trying to get the puppies but she snaped at us and almost bit my mother. So we couldn't get the puppies and clean thier air whole. She had 2 more and ate 1 more. She tryed to eat the last one she had but we finally got her to look at us and Snowball let us get all the puppies. So there were 5 deciese ones and 3 she ate. My mother called the doctor and told her what happen and she said that some dogs try to chow thier puppies ambilica cord off and chow to much. After calling the doctor she called someone to get the puppies. We were sad ecasicially my sister. I told myself it was over and that she wouldn't do it again. Me and my sister cleaned her and tied her up and that was it. We were so devisated that she did that in front of us like that.

No, but I have a cat story. My husband gave me a kitten for x-mas two years ago. He's a Gray tabby cat and he's about 12 lbs. He's the best cat. He acts like a dog. He's begs for food, greets you at the door when you come home, and he plays fetch. His favorite toys are the little plastic ring around milk containers, and bottle caps. If you open a beer anywhere in my house before you can put it down he will be at your feet meowing for you to throw it for you. Recently my husband gave my a kitten again a few months ago because I wanted Turtle (my other cat) to have a playmate. And now my kitten (Ducky) plays fetch too. .... How cool is that?

My 13 year old, 25-lb American Eskimo chased a 200-lb bear out of our neighborhood. She would not break chase until the bear was our of the neighborhood. She even turned around to give an "and-another-thing" bark at the bear. She pranced home with her head and tail high.

My husband and I bought a Basset Hound 5 months ago. It hasn't taken long for him to work his way into our hearts.
The neighbors on our right moved away and left behind their cats. They had belonged to their mother who had passed away, so I guess they didn't want to take them. Two of them disappeared, but one, which was the smallest stayed and made friends with me and Bud (our dog).
Before long we realized the cat was pregnant and we were going to try and help her so the kittens would be safe. We set up different beds for her but in the end had them under our house.
When the babies started coming out from under the house they were wild and would run from us. One day I went outside to put food out for them and they were laying all over Bud and pulling on his ears and tumbling all over him.
Bud loves the kittens like they were his and cleans them up. Mama cat doesn't mind and will lay down and watch them. Bud loves her too. He is so protective of the kittens that when a stray cat comes into our yard he chases them away, then proceed to check all of them out.
I told a friend about this and she recommended reading The Dog Who Rescues Cats...a true story... written by Philip Gonzalez and Leonore Fleischer. This book will make you feel good.
