Just curious to see who has family members in Iraq right now, and what branch?
I have one leaving tomorrow. It stinks, but I know he is going to "be all that he can be" and all that stuff. Just want a little company to be sad with that he is leaving.

I have my step-son over there right now, and it's been very hard. Remember that no news is good news, and he can't get enough mail or packages while he is there. We just celebrated our son's birthday by making him a cake, and singing to him, and put the videos of it all on CD for him, so he can watch it on his laptop and know that we were all thinking about him. And be sure to get a motomail account set up so he can get your e-mails within 24-48 hours after you send them to him.(he'll get your e-mail in paper form) I wish you all the best, and if you ever need to talk, just e-mail me!! We can exchange ideas for their care packages.

I dont know anyone over there right now personally but back in 04 when I was in the AF I got lucky and both me and my father deployed to the same base over there. It really helped the time go by. Dont think that will ever happen again seeing how I am in the Army now.

My bf is over there and he will be coming home in three months after his year tour. This was his first deployement. My cousin is leaving for Iraq with in a few weeks. This is his third deployment. They are both in the army. It has been a little rough but all you can do is be there for them and pray ALOT!! Hope this helps and don't worry they will be ok.
